6D rumors:
may or may not be announced at photokina.
whats to come for canon is a S100 replacement and a G12 replacement. (G1X was never a replacement for the G12)
*UPDATE*
As far as the EOS 6D goes, I’ve been told a few things about the specs previously posted.
Does not have a flip out screen
It’s 4.5fps not 4.9
No built in flash
It’s possible that 2 cameras are being mixed up and showing up in one spec list.
More talk about an upcoming 6D
We have received a larger spec list in regards to a forthcoming Canon EOS 6D. This camera will come in between the 7D and the 5D Mark III and replace the 5D Mark II
Specs
22MP full frame
Flip out screen, Built in flash
19 pt AF, 63 zone metering
Single Digic 5+
4.9 fps (Also heard 4.5fps)
3 inch LCD (We’d previously heard touchscreen)
ISO 12,800
New battery and grip – new GPS and WiFi grip option.
Built in ‘connectivity and sharing’ software

@46MP, they should make it so you can have the option to hook up a portable external hard drive directly to the camera via USB

maybe its built in now to the bodies? or dropped for wireless transferring?

if its 46mp I would bet Canon will have the pieces in place to offer file transfer/storage options that can keep up with the camera.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II Rumors Surface [CR1]
A new EOS 7D Mark II mention
A new EOS 7D Mark II is rumored to be announced some time in January, 2013. The camera would take the place of the 7D and 60D.
Specs are minimal, as should be expected. However, it should have a 20+ megapixel sensor and the ability to shoot 10fps. The frame rate is a “targeted spec” for the camera.
I think we’ll see the APS-C market slow down a bit, now that the D600 and EOS 6D are changing the pricing structure for consumer camera bodies.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II Spec List [CR2]
February 19, 2013
First spec list in a long time
We received our first spec list for a Canon EOS 7D Mark II (we’re calling it that for now) from a known source in a while this weekend. Most people are now saying that this camera is probably being announced at the end of summer, with availability almost right away like the EOS 5D Mark III.
It was also mentioned that their could be as many as 3 prototype configurations of the camera out there, and this one of them.
Specifications
24.1mp APS-C Sensor
Dual DIGIC V
10fps
Dual Memory Card Slots (Unknown configuration)
61 AF Points (I wonder if we’ll get red focus points in AIS?)
3.2″ LCD
Build quality like 5D3
GPS & Wifi
$2199 ($500 more than the 7D at launch, I’d like to see such a camera come in under $2000)
ISO Performance to get close to the 5D3
“Lots of video features”
As we’ve been told before, this camera will basically be a mini EOS-1D X, and with that, comes a price increase. It was also stressed that about the only spec that may change is the sensor, as they have a few APS-C sensors available. I wonder about the megapixel count, though if Canon gets back to making industry leading sensors, I have no doubt 24mp could be a real winner.

My first Avatar....
I'd look at it if they REALLY, REALLY upgraded the sensor. The ISO performance of this sensor, the same one that is shared by several Canons including my camera, just sucks.

Earth-bound misfit
I don't know that I think it's that overpriced if there is a significant upgrade in noise handling and if the AF is on par with that in the 5D3.
Dual card slots alone are exciting if you use them professionally. I could care less about the wifi, but adding that in a grip has been crazy expensive in the past.
It's enough less expensive than the 5D3 that this camera would have tempted me to buy another cropped body instead had it been out when I bought. Though, no lie, I'm 100% in love with my 5D3 and am glad it wasn't.

The MP creep does make me sad. Every time I step up to a bigger/better camera it slows my processing speed down to manage the increased file size. I'm already daydreaming about upgrading my laptop now that I'm shooting with the 5D more...

rumors are saying that the 7D2 might have a integrated grip and use the 1DX battery because the higher voltage is needed to drive the AF system faster.

Canon has been very busy of late, not only did we have the 60D release shortly after its August 2010 unveiling, they also released an updated version of this DSLR in April last year as well as a range of compacts in between. However, we have known for a while that the Canon 70D was going to debut, and we can now tell you that the successor to the 60D will be unveiled on March 22, 2013.
While we have no official details in regards to the Canon 70D specs, we can tell you that the features will be a huge jump when compared to the 60D, so let’s hope that the 70D price does not take too much of a jump either.
As you would imagine there have been plenty of rumors surrounding this upcoming DSLR, such as this one suggesting that the 70D being an amalgamation of the 7D and 60D, so maybe the cost will be a little higher after all?
Knowing that the Canon 70D will be pretty close to the 7D, even though it will have several feature upgrades like a higher megapixel APS-C sensor, as reported here, it was obvious that Canon would want to update that particular camera as well, so we should expect the arrival of the 7D X pretty soon as well.
If we are to believe this rumor then the Canon 7D X will sit somewhere between the 70D and 5D Mark III. Once we know more come March 22 then we will offer you a review of the Canon 70D specifications.

Awesome! I got on a kick again today and decided on the 60D (between the T4i and T3i) Haven't bought it yet.
Depends on price and specs for the 70D at this point. If it's worthy I'll have to pick one up.

curious. I think I will wait to see what this is (i.e. wait a little longer, in general) before buying any small APS-C sensor camera.

Is Canon Building a Tiny DSLR That’s the Size of a Mirrorless Camera?
Michael Zhang · Mar 12, 2013
Canon’s EOS M mirrorless camera is meant to offer DSLR-caliber image quality inside a compact camera-sized body. However, stuffing an APS-C sensor into a tiny form factor may not be the only way Canon is trying to go small. There are now murmurings that Canon may have a super small DSLR camera in the works for photogs who need a little extra portability.
This rumor comes courtesy of Stefan over at CanonWatch, who writes that a new source tipped him off to the pint-sized camera.
It’s reportedly not part of the Rebel/XXXD lineup, which is the lowest tier Canon offers at this point. In other words, you can’t currently get more entry-level than a Canon Rebel.
That may soon change. The rumor says that the new DSLR will be geared toward budget-conscious consumers, and will be the smallest and lightest DSLR Canon has ever produced.
Canon will try to offer a small and compact DSLR as alternative to the EOS M. A DSLR that is almost as small and light as a mirrorless camera. The new DSLR will support EF and EF-S lenses, and it should not have the AF issues of the EOS M. And there should be also a new kit zoom lens for this new, super-small DSLR, a kit zoom that is also said to be light-weighted and of small size.
So how realistic is this rumor? We’re not sure. Craig over at Canon Rumors says that although he hasn’t heard anything about this camera before, its development is “definitely possible.”
One of the things in favor of this rumor is the fact that Canon recently published patents for a 100% optical viewfinder that’s tiny in size. While the patent could be for some technology that will appear inside the upcoming viewfinder-equipped EOS M followup, 100% viewfinder coverage is usually only discussed when talking about DSLRs, not mirrorless cameras.
Since the next EOS M camera will be a mirrorless camera, the patents could very well be for something that is meant to reduce the size of a traditional DSLR.

Breaking News: First Specs Of Canon’s Super-Small DSLR Showed Up
The extra-small DSLR Canon is working on appears to be real. A very trustworthy source sent me a list of specifications, and it appears that there are already prototypes out in the wild undergoing testing.
The spec list I got:
18MP sensor (same sensor featured on the EOS M and EOS 650D)
DIGIC 5 image processor
Touchscreen similar to the EOS M (possibly same 3″ size)
9 focusing points
A new hybrid CMOS auto-focus
98% viewfinder
6fps
ISO up to 25,600
EF and EF-S lens support
HD video
It looks the new DSLR will feature some of the technology that is already used on the EOS M.

Best Buy Leaks Mysterious New Canon DSLR
Michael Hession
Looks like some clumsy folks at Best Buy have listed an unannounced Canon DSLR on their website. This could fall in line with rumors circulating about a "mini-DSLR" meant to compete with compact mirrorless cameras.
The specs on Best Buy's page show an $800 "EOS-b." This camera has an 18 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, 3" display, and comes with a typical kit lens. All the specs, in fact, are exactly what you would find in one Canon's current consumer DSLR offerings like the T4i.

Canonrumors has been hearing whispers of a new DSLR sporting a really really small body, which they believe could be this leaked product, pointing to the listed weight as being 13.1 oz—5 oz lighter than the t4i. Saucy! [Engadget via Canonrumors]

Canon EOD 100D touted for release, alleged specs and price revealed
New entry level DSLR?
18 March 2013 9:50 GMT / By Rik Henderson
Rumours of an all-new addition to Canon's DSLR camera line-up have been circulating for a few days now, and alleged specifications and price point have appeared on the US site for electronics retailer Best Buy for the model claimed to be going by the title Canon EOS 100D.
The camera, says site Canon Rumours, will cost around the $799 mark with the EF-S 18-55mm IS lens kit. That's about £500, so technically below the 650D in the range. And at 116.8 x 91.4 x 68.5mm it is also physically smaller than the 650D (aka Rebel T4i). It's even smaller that the entry-level EOS 1100D, if these leaked specs are to be believed.
Further specifications and features to appear on Best Buy include an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor, with an image resolution up to 5184 x 3456, 3-inch TFT LCD touchscreen, and ISO up to 26,500.
Face detection and burst modes are listed, along with a movie mode and a frames per second rating of up to four.
SD, SDHC and SDXC cards are all supported for memory, the site says, and it is believed the camera will be announced on 22 or 23 March, so at least we won't have to wait long to find out the final details.
