Being on the other side of camera

Who here hates it?

Count me in.
And to no surprise, during the holidays is when everybody wants to take pictures. I'll usually end up giving in with resistance just to humor people and shut 'em up. I really start to get annoyed when everybody starts demanding all kinds of pictures though. It's just one of those things that pushes my edge.

I guess people don't understand that I really hate being in them.
Granted, I hate being in pictures more than most anyone, so what gives?

Anybody else hate being in front of the camera?

I specfically got a phottix remote for the d300 because i was tired of having to run back and forth to be in group shots.

So finally I can say i was part of the picture and next to everyone saying smile =P

My friends do a 365 ad a 52 week project to get behind the camera more =P

I used to hate it more, but as I grew older I realized it's a little selfish to walt people in your shots but not to be in their shots - especially with friends and family.

It doesn't bother me much.

People who get all drama filled and crazy about not getting their picture taken really bug me.

Dang i never knew so many people hated being in photos but i do see many peoples points some people suck at taking your photo then posting it on facebook and untagging.

I guess i don't get my photo taken often since i'm deemed as the camera man

Does this correlates to anti socialism? I don't mean to say some of you guys are loners or losers or anything. Maybe some people are insecure about themselves which is understandable.

I'm not a camera whore, but I love taking pictures with families and friends so I can share it with other people. To me, it's like sharing happiness. I don't know, maybe I'm a little weird or something. But I don't like taking pictures just by myself (unless the background/setting is way awesome).

what gets me more than anything is in the age of digital everyone wanting the same shot with their camera. I think the camera with the highest IQ should take the pic and then people can just share.

I really think there is a market to have the ability to share pics between cameras from within the camera.

I prefer taking the pictures, but am okay in couple/group shots. Not a huge fan of being solo in shots.

And +1 about most other people sucking at taking pictures of people. If I have my tripod with me, I will use it as opposed to having someone take our picture because most people suck.

Good call. I hate when there are 3+ cameras taking pictures of the same shot - all only to be downsized and uploaded to facebook.

I voted somewhat. I used to really hate it, but I also like being able to look back on old photos and see various stages of my life. If I regret anything, it's that I didn't take enough pics, or I don't have enough with me in them, of the many things I've done or been a part of.

So, I take my tripod everywhere with me, sometimes much to wife's chargrin , and take self portraits of the both of us. I shudder to think of how it would have been on my honeymoon without the pod. It drove my wife a little crazy, but now we can look back on many fine shots of us together. To me, that's priceless.

As some of you may know, I'm a personal trainer at a gym. At the gym, there's a wall with pictures of the trainers. I don't have one up because te manager insist on using his fucking cell phone to take the picture. All the other trainers' pics are shit. He'll come after me with that cell phone and I just take off. I've already submitted a picture (twice), that I took myself with a tripod but he keeps saying he can't find it and to just let him take another one with his cell phone

I have less issue with being in photos than I do with having my photo all over the internet.

But no, I don't love to have my pic taken. :shakehead

I'm not photogenic at all...I look completely stoned in 95% of all pictures. In the remaining 4.93% I just look like a retard. That leaves 0.07% of my pictures being somewhat decent.

I break cameras when I step in front of them, essentially.

lol, my drivers license's picture actually looks pretty decent. I kinda like it. So earlier this year when I lost it, I bummed cuz I thought I'd need to re-take another picture. But luckily they keep it on file and I didn't have to for my new DL

I like candids for people, which doesnt exactly work when getting yourself shot. I also hate my camera smile, and It makes me sad when someone doesn't take the picture I wanted them to take (or imagined in my head)
