Another wedding photog thread.

I don't want to take away from Yum Yum's thread so here is mine.

I am currently looking at two different husband/wife teams. I haven't met with or spoken to either yet, though I did just contact one via email. I hope to hear from them tomorrow.

A) http://www.handelandtesoro.com/

These people one of my friend's weddings a couple years ago. They did really great work, and they were super cool people. So, naturally we are looking at them. I have yet to talk to them though. But their work in a word...excellent. Which I'm sure will also come at a price, but photos are the one place in my wedding "budget" where I am willing to spend.

B) http://www.amyandstuart.com/

The husband is a fellow camera assistant. He is a south african bloke and a super nice guy. Both he and his wife attended the Brooks Institute of Photography. He is who I emailed tonight. I just saw their website for the first time this evening, and I must say I REALLY love their work. I love that they use film and digital, their compositions, their use of color. I'm very high on them at the moment.

So, opinions?

That is something I'm not sure of yet. But I budgeted for photography. Its the one aspect I will drop some debt on.

I will say I'm almost 100% positive the other couple are WAY more expensive.

Yeah, as per the advice in the other thread, meet these guys and see what sort of rapport you can establish.

Also, see what packages they offer. You're a camera dude yourself, and so, I'm sure you know when someone is snowing you relating to this stuff.

Yes, and like I said I have some rapport with Stuart, we have worked together before and he is a super cool guy.

I would go with A, I think they show unnoticed details and (not sure where or what type of wedding) they seem to bring in the environment nicely.

I came upon this today and thought of all of ya'll that are getting married soon.
Took the plunge

We finally were able to meet with Stuart and Amy today. We ended up chilling with them at their home for almost 2 hours.

I think we found our shooters.

We also got invitations done and picked out.

There is a paper company here who is getting into invites so they are looking for couples who are willing to have their invites shown in a demo book, and give up some design choices.

Well, we met them, and will get our own design choice. and we are getting 90% off.....we are getting letter pressed heavy card stock (board basically) including the invite/ rsvp card and envelopes all for sick deal. so that is cool.

Eek, they look like creepy drowned people. My ex-sister-in-law & her husband sent out save the date cards that said "Taking the Plunge" & had a pic of them scuba diving. They didn't look dead in it, though.
