1998 Toyota Supra Photoshoot (56k may have trouble)

Hey, this was the first time I've tried taking good pictures of my friends Supra, and my first time ever taking night pictures with a tripod. I don't think they turned out too bad. Please tell me what you think, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The car is a 1998 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo with the original factory color Royal Saphire Pearl. Only 10 Supra's were painted this color in 1998.

Car looks good, but all the pics look out of focus and oversaturated. What camera did you use? Concept looks good for you first time taking night pics.

I like the pics, and I LOVE that car. Only thing is, the close up of the chrome rim looks like there is a penis in it. UGH!!!

Hey, I used a Canon Powershot S2 IS. Could you give me some tips on how to make it more focused and less saturated. I just used the autofocus on the camera. Shutter was set between 8 to 15 seconds depending on the pic, and iso was set at 200 I think.

Thanks for the complements,

Joe

It's always good to have a remote shutter release when doing long exposures, but I don't think the S2 has the ability. ISO 200 for night shots is good, but you camera has automatic noise reduction for exposures of 1.3 sec or slower, so maybe that affects the clearity or sharpness of pics? Can you send me a high-res untouched pic of #2... Thanks!

Here are some nice sharp night shots a guy took of his mini, but I don't have any exif data.

Really good night shots in general

Got it thanks! There is a lot of noise in it and slightly blurry, but I like all the pics, it may be the camera.

What can I do to reduce the noise with the camera I have?

Not sure, usually you get noise with high ISO's, keep trying in different light conditions, day and night. Also Photoshop works wonders, I know you were asking to clean up your pics, but I did some noise, sharpness and level work on the original pic to clean it up a bit. I wanted to try and see the actual car as close to how it really looks. Another thing that makes a car look good is some tire dressing. It's a nice car to take pics of, so keep trying whenever he lets you.

We have an S2 at work, and I don't think it does. However, he can still get the same effect by simply using the self timer so that there is a few seconds for the camera to settle from the time he presses the shutter to the time the exposure takes place.
