Having tried to capture a dragonfly in flight unsuccessfully many times, I imagine this was just that much harder...

I've got to learn to do lightning pics. On my new place I'm 10 stories up and have a view of the National Cathedral. It would be cool to get some shots of it getting zapped.

I only tried it once (a couple years ago) and, IMO, it's not that difficult. It has more to do with luck than anything else. Find a good storm and get yourself in a good position and comp, use infinity focus, and then just leave the shutter open. Nice on your view, I hope we'll get to see some photos of it soon!

I got the latest Restoration Hardware catalog in the mail today. It's chock full of fantastic photography - My favorite is this one:

It looks better in print. The man's clothing, expression and the lighting around him is fantastic.

Mesmerizing Time-Lapse of Burning Man Shows 5 Weeks in 5 Minutes

Earlier this year, UT Austin grad student Matthew Goodman set up a Canon DSLR on Razorback mountain, which overlooks the desert where Burning Man was held. Over the next two months, the camera snapped a photograph every 10 minutes, resulting in roughly 8,000 12-megapixel photographs. Goodman then used the images to create this impressive time-lapse video showing 5 weeks of Burning Man in just 5 minutes. Every second shows 3 hours, so a full day passes every 8 seconds.

So, I am on a new show...which shoots about an hour away from my home...tack that on to the typical 12-14 hour days...and I don't get to see my boys much during the week anymore...if I'm lucky and I have later call time, I might get to spend 5-10 minutes with them.

So, I told our nanny to send me lots of pics through out the day, Always cheers me up.

She just got an iPhone 4s...she isn't a good photographer by any means...but she got this shot today...and its just one of my favorites...I'm going to have some prints made this weekend.

Of course...I did a little processing
