Acurazine Photo Contest #58 - Reportage - Black & White
I was inspired by the Annie Leibowitz documentary I watched last night.
Here is a good little article about reportage/documentary style photography: http://corkydave.hubpages.com/hub/Oh-Go-On-Then
HDR IS NOT allowed.
-The subject of the photo must convey the reportage style.
-All images must be black and white or monochrome. (Tinted monochromes, such as sepia, are allowed).
-All pictures must have a title.
-You must be the person who took the picture.
-Previously taken photos are allowed, however, photos used in previous contests are not allowed.
-One submission per person.
-Images must be no larger than 1024px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed, but you must have one that is no larger than 1024px for the poll.
-All contestants must host their own pictures.
-While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.
Important dates and poll info:
Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Friday, March 16th at 9PM EST. (Note, even if I haven't started the poll on time, this will be a firm cut-off this time. No late entries will be included in the poll.)
The poll will start on Saturday March 17th-ish.
The poll will close on Wednesday, March 21st.
Looking forward to the entries...happy shooting!

I thought that, too! No one that prolific should also be allowed to be that good...

Can a mod please fix the first post to read March 21st instead of Feb?
And Miz..really? You read my mistake, but not the rest? Check out the link. And maybe the sentence that says "reportage/documentary."

I just don't quite know what to make of you.
No, it doesn't have to be a news item. Just a moment. Not posed or pre-planned. Captured in the reportage style. Please do go shoot something for it.

That's not taken out or adding something to an image. It's the normal part of the processing of an image.

I agree, cropping is fine. The spirit of it is not to misrepresent what the actual scene was, imo.

WTF
I think it's Flickr's way of telling me that my submission isn't worthy.
I'll try again, but this time using the direct image URL instead of Flickr's pregenerated BBCode...
Valley of Dreams
For the record, when I posted the picture the first time it appeared to work at that time .
