Acurazine Photo Contest #39

The theme for this contest is: "Beauty in the Mundane"

I have noticed that we have had before a theme by the name of "Used in Everyday Life." As that referred to specific objects/things/items that are used in everyday life, "Beauty in the Mundane" suggests pictures of everyday scenes that we are likely to come across on a day to day basis but have an interesting perspective or twist to them. This topic should be general enough for EVERYONE to participate



Any interpretation of the theme is good.
HDR *IS* allowed.

The rules for this contest are as follows:

-The subject can be anything you deem acceptable that fits the description.
-You must be the person that took the photos. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
-One submission per contest.
-Images must be no larger than 1024px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 1024px for the poll.
-All contestants must host their own pictures.
-All pictures must have a title.
-While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than March 15, 2010, 9PM PST!

The poll will be up March 15, 9PM PST -- March 20, 9PM PST.

 

now that i read it again ... i'm not sure if everyone is going to get it ... ill change according to any suggestions people may have ...

I think it is a fantastic idea!

 

Cool concept! This one should be interesting.

 

I find an inorganic chemistry midterm to be neither beautiful nor mundane.

im new to the photography section. are these contests for fun or are there usually prizes?

 

for fun.

 

The prize is that you get to pick the next contest theme and "get" to put the next poll together!

Are these contests dead now? The last 2 contests couldn't even be closed on time because nobody wanted to post anything.

ive been trying to find stuff to shoot that fits the category, its pretty challenging. ill have something.

 

I'll try to get something here soon. I haven't entered anything in a while.

i'm working on actually shooting something during the time-frame of the contest and not pulling a previously shot photo out...i'll have something too...

 

given that participation does seem to have diminished over the past contests, I think for the next one we should choose a very broad topic..

Every contest I seemed to have entered was one were there was 30 or more entries.

Oh well. Just more reason to go out a shoot to get better, eh?
