Fuji X-T2 Review
Twist my arm why don't you Vital! ;-)
Rating: 9.5/10
When purchased: September 2016
Pros: Lightweight, Fast FPS (w/vertical booster grip), Best EVF out there, DSLR rivaling AF, Great low light, Awesome JPEG SOOC, Color science
Cons: Battery life is OK, Vertical Grip makes is heavier/bulkier, Still figuring out quirky in camera profile settings
Would you recommend a friend this item: Yes
Extra Comments: What's not to like about this system. The Fuji lens line up is stellar. The performance of this camera has already made me forget my larger/heavier Nikon gear. It's just fun to use, and takes me back to shooting film. The more I use and learn about this camera the more I grow to love it. I am still trying to figure out why my profile settings dont always stick...and it boned me on this last shoot. So my in camera NR and Sharpness settings weren't where I wanted them, and for that I deducted .5 points or I would have given this a 10/10. Still happy with the results:
X-T2, 16-55 2.8
X-T2, 50-140 2.8

So, while I still love this camera and have no regrets about switching I will admit that last night was the first time I missed having a FF sensor...and I'll tell you why.
Light transmission.
I went to night time event downtown, and I'm so thankful I decided to bring my tripod. Even at 12800 ISO with +3 compensation I was way too underexposed. But my friend, who still has his D800, shooting handheld, was seeing in the dark between 3200-6400 ISO.
All my shots had to be timed exposures of at least 1.5 seconds at 800 ISO. Get a sharp, usable, and well exposed shot. With that I get the uncontrollable motion blur of the people...but I think in this case it lended toward a cool look.
But yeah, FF still have their advantages.

OK...2 year review:
I just finished selling all my Fuji gear and I’m going back to Nikon
It was a nice system. There was things I liked...lots I didnt like. When I first got it someone told me the magic in the system was their primes, and well, I never got or used a single prime. I debated about selling one or two zooms and getting a 23/2...but then I fell into the other issue I had with the system. resolution. With my D800 I was used to being able to shoot wide knowing I could crop in and reframe in post thereby negating the need to change lenses in the field unless moving to a telephoto. And the Fuji just doesnt have the crystal clear resolution to accomplish this feat. And I’m too used to be able to shoot like that. I want to be able to take the camera with me more often...and with the zooms and the vertical grip it was a still a “larger” set up.
So, I’ve pre-ordered a Nikon Z7 with the 35 1.8 and hopefully that can satiate my needs. The pre-pro stills Ive seen on dpreview and zoomed in on have blown me away.
