Acurafest 2012 discussion thread: Let's make it Happen

Ok, So I know this is pretty early, but early is good right? Anyways, I think we should be in the talks for Acurafest 2012, let's all chill out and make it easy going, let's not have what happened in 2011 happen in 2012.

So last year everyone was cool with a chill, relaxed day like back in the day and 2009 in Fresno.

In my head I was thinking the coast, because I know most of you liked it when you had it in that area before. At first I was talking to some tracks down in the Fontana area to see if we could have it there, but they wanted us to pay 250 for anyone that wanted to Auto-x. So I was like nevermind because we rather use that 250 towards something on our cars.

Ok so let's discuss it, I didn't go to Acurafest prior to 2009 so let's hear your ideas and comments.

Let's all be civil as well.

Thanks!

No it's going to be the Acurafest/ All Cali thing for 2012.

We are having a meet in Fairfield on April 1st for the Nor Cal guys. I just posted the link so the Nor Cal guys can come and chime in as well as the So Cal guys.

hopefully it ends up being a great turn out since it wont be an all cali acurafest meet. it was one of the main reasons why i drove so far last time! AFEST 2010 was probably my first major meet i've ever gone to and it was a great experience!

i loved the organization that went down and the set up on the roof top. organizing the cars by model and generation was sick just thought id comment on the last AFEST!

Why Sway? If we all get involved and plan and don't leave others out of the loop I don't see why it will head the same direction as the last one did.

Someone will have to take lead on this, with out someone doing the leg work it might just fail you know.

That's why I'm saying if we all get involved. Last year we had a guy in SB willing to help out, but we were all left up in the air about what was going on.

Also Bryan AKA Crazyasiantl also said he will help out in the Arroyo Grande area, we have members all over Cali which I'm pretty sure would lend a hand if need be.

That was the same thing everyone said last year though Kev, thats why im saying someone has to take lead on basically being the overseer of everything.

I see what you are saying. I wonder who took charge before the 2009 meet.

I'm going to contact some different people and see what can be done.

I think last year it would have happened if we werent left in the dark about what was going on.

pre-acurafest.. back when it was just All-Cali

it was everyone that sorta gave input.

https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/all-cali-summer-meet-2008-%5Bfeeler%5D-381156/

no bickering of location..

then we ended up with a sign up sheet

https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/2008-all-cali-summer-meet-sat-july-26-pismo-beach-ca-388655/

people went. came home

ended up with nice picture thread

I will travel to cali more than I would Kansas.

with that being said, I didnt read the thread.
I'm only down if its setup right.
like how its been setup in the past.

if some one can organize it as big as Triodesigns, it would be AWESOME.

Wait how come this year isn't catered to an All Cali Acurafest? I got some people up north that I would love to hang out with this summer/fall and I usually only see them through meets like this.

2010 Acurafest was my first ever Acurafest and it made me a believer in Acurafest. I hope as much soul and spirit can be retained from 2010 because in my opinion, that meet seriously blew every meet out of the water that I've ever attended.

But if it can't happen, I'll understand why due to logistical reasons.

EDIT: Nm read it through carefully and looks like it's All Cali catered

I'm with Sway.

Pismo still is the best location right now. I'm going to talk to Bryan AKA CrazyasianTL since he is near the coast almost every weekend.

i was also disappointed that acurafest didnt happen last time around. even though i was out of the acura scene, i was still down to go up in my lexy. i still got support for my fellow acuraziners and i'm sure it would be a fun drive and experience. let's make acurafest happen this year!

i liked the feel of the first "Afest" that was at Woodward Park. it just seemed to mainstream after that.

i never went to an All- Cali meet, but i liked the way that it was simple. no sponsors, no booths, just nice cars, great people, and some food.

it looks like its up to brian and kevin to organize this.

Please, get with triodesigns. Please make it as big as it was in previous years.
People will travel for this event.
you all just need to organize it correctly.

Nothing wrong with that too. I don't expect anything to top Chuckansi. I just loved the atmosphere of the meet. I could talk to anyone without feeling like an outcast from their "group." It was Acurafest that I was able to meet some great TL guys like Jay (vipTL) and Michael Johnson with the bagged silver TL.

I'm tired of the M&M/Azusa meet where people just don't seem to get along.
