4th Annual All Cali/Acurafest Planning Thread
Guys, sorry I didn't see this post earlier. I live in San Luis Obispo and was at the Pismo meet briefly. Why not have it there again? There's parks right next to the beach and the traffic is pretty moderate here in the summer when all the students are gone. Either way, I'm up for rollin to Santa Barbara also.

I'm a little surprised that the thread asking them to sticky this was not only denied but locked. That's the only way I found out about this.
So it's looking like Fresno. At least it's only 1:45 from me. I wish the little club/afterparty would've worked out last time but Hooters was fun too. How about an award for the first azine drinking contest....

We need to get the word out somehow, maybe in our signatures so it shows up everytime we post.

Saturday OCT 9th 2010.... REASON.... HEAT & 2nd REASON BELOW.
UPDATES... we got news that ACURA has been keeping an eye on us since last year. After Acurafest 09, an ACURA REP (CORPORATE REP) got wind of the event & posted pics of it on ACURA's DEALER ONLY INTERWEB Network. (Nationwide). Dealer talk about ACURAFEST has been rumored.
So they requested a "ACURAFEST EVENT Proposal" in which we can expect OFFICIAL ACURA support... that is as long as we can please them with our concept.
So that's it... cats out of the bag, but I just couldn't justify spreading the news until we had more info.
Another reason why ACURAFEST has been pushed back to October. MIKE & I are very efficient & can set up this meet in as little as 3 weeks, but "corporate" needs much more time to plan. (obviously their operation is much bigger)
So as we setup to move forward, we have decided to host the show at a all inclusive "RESORT" style location to justify the ACURA "LUXURY SPORT" brand. (Mike & I are reviewing several location options as I type)
P.S. Mike is working on a blog style site to keep every detail posted about the progress of ACURA's involvement & future plans. (THINK OF HELAFLUSH & FATLACE's BLOG TYPE)
WOW it feels good to let more people in on what we are trying to accomplish. If this works, we can expect to grow more this year with ACURA support than 5 years of working our buts off without ACURA.

Wow resort style location? Does that mean it's gonna be "elegant?"
And I agree about spreading this throughout the site now that we have a set date and sponsor. My best guess is the mods didn't want to broadcast this before just like TRIOD3SIGNS didn't want to spoil the news until it is set in stone.

I disagree completely, by the way, and feel that spreading the word around like I did will get people to view the regions section.

Not exactly. According to one mod, which seemed like he spoke on behalf of all of the mods, they dont allow these kind of posts in the forums because of the Regions section of the forum. They want members to explore the site and if we make threads like the ones I made, it will defeat the purpose of having a regions section.

Roger and I were discussing that Acura has been definitely been moving along the path of establishing itself as it's own entity of a luxury-sport brand. No, not the boring, old-aged Mercedes type of luxury (nothing against that), but definitely as a community that shares "the same vigor and optimism of youth, and the promise of getting on and ahead in the world".
We definitely deserve our own meet that is fitting to our own group of characters, interests, and of course what brings us together the brand of cars we drive. I'm not saying that we can't share the same meets with older civics, or what not, but more so the image associated with the burn-out in the parking lot crowd.
Every other luxury-sport brand has their own designated and exclusive events, and I say we deserve a damn good one too!

Well elt em know if there is anything I can do to help get this thing going I dont live in Fresno or know anyone that does, but I have a computer that can do some research if i tell it to lol.
