what do you think will happen to Delphi?

as many of you guys know Delphi has filed chapter 11. They are fighting with employees over wages. they continue to struggle.
bottom line: it doesn't look good for them.
Do you believe GM will buy enough stock in them to control them. Dad and I was talking about this. He thinks GM will buy Delphi but I don't think they will because GM is in the "red" too. The stockshare holders meetings have to be nasty as is. then if you brought up to buy a struggling company the stockshare holders would have a cow.
If you think GM does let Delphi "go" what do you think GM will do for supplier of many parts.
this is what I think will happen GM will let Delphi "go" however right now GM is out "shopping" around for suppliers to replace Delphi. I think GM knows the end is near for Delphi. I give Delphi maybe 1.5 or 2 years tops.

Is that where GM gets all its crappy plastics and various parts from? Then let 'em go. They're doing GM a huge favor, they just don't know it yet.

I think they'll survive, but as a smaller entity. Employees will get screwed.

This is soooooooooooooo like a typical Ohio-origin post on the Detroit News forums ... except without the "there goes the American middle class" thesis.

Delphi's like the Kerry/Edwards ticket. Sunk.
It's really gonna hurt some people. I hope it doesn't hurt me, I mean, if Delphi closes their HQ along I-75, I'll lose a local landmark.

I think it's more interesting to see what's going on with Ford and Visteon.
Ford isn't as big as GM, but they seem to be shouldering more costs.
They're screwed.

GM will very likely come to the rescue by subsidizing the wages and benefit stuffs. It cannot afford to have Delphi shutting down or having Delphi workers going on strike.

GM could care less. I think they'd want them to go on strike. at the GM plant at the south end of Dayton they build the Trailblazer, b-9 Tribeca and Saab's version of the Trailblazer they have their lot clear full of SUVs. I think GM will want them to strike to "burn off" old cars and trucks.

Moraine does not build the B9 Tribeca. The Tribeca has no relation to the TrailBlazer/Envoy/Ascender/Rainier.

hopefully GM will get a different parts supplier, that costs a little more, but makes way better parts. GM doesnt realize that they need to spend some more money, get the level of quality up and make the cars unique.

There was an article about this a few months back. It said that GM would spend ~ $200 more per interior and start to exert control over the design of its interiors instead of turning it all over to Lear or Johnson Controls and letting them control the design.

amazes me when the start of 06 model year they cut the cost to consumers by like 500 to 1500 per car vs 05 models
sounds like a lot more money going out than coming in.

Ahh, OK. Then let them live, cause I don't think GM's reputable for electronic glitches.
