Toyota has released images of its Hi-CT Concept ahead of its Tokyo Motor Show debut. Intended for the youth market, the Hi-CT is designed to be a highly versatile urban vehicle that is "unconstrained by conventional vehicle size." The Hi-CT features a removable trunk and a deck for carrying surfboards, bicycles and other equipment.

The Hi-CT utilizes a plug-in hybrid powertrain — storing the batteries under the floor for increased interior volume — that provides an extended driving range. The Hi-CT also features a AC100V accessory socket for other electronics.
