It's not a sedan, and not a minivan-and it's not the Mazda5, despite the similarities with that vehicle. The Toyota FSC, or Flexible Saloon Concept, is a five-door vehicle smaller than conventionally-sized U.S. minivans but not quite as small as the likes of the Scion xB. The "Vibrant Clarity" design theme gives the FSC an elegant stance and a D-pillar reminiscent of the Lexus RX crossover. The concept's tailgate has a two-way action; the lower portion slides up for access to the cargo area, or the whole tailgate can be lifted for more space. Barely acknowledged during the Toyota press conference, the FSC looks as if it really wants to be with its design siblings at Lexus-and suggests to us there's room for a smaller-than-RX crossover in the upscale brand's lineup.

Toyota says the FSC is designed to combine the elegance of a sedan and the utility of a minivan. Under the design philosophy of "Vibrant Clarity," the FSC 's interior accommodates four adults and is highlighted by a power-adjustable rear space that can adapt to various needs. The instrument panel has a flowing shape and the rest of the interior features illumination meant to create a comfortable ambiance.

Vehicle Type: Crossover wagon
What’s Cool: Third row seats can be converted into flat floor or enclosed trunk area. Door trim and roof have ice-blue LED nightclub lighting.
Production possibility: The Mercedes-Benz R Class has spawned plenty of imitators. Toyota’s version could look something like this. The FSC’s 110.2-inch wheelbase would fit right onto the next Camry platform.

Despite all the talk of the IS wanting to dethrone the 3 series it seems to me like in the past Lexus' main aim is MB not BMW. This has R-class written all over it.
I'm sure Lexus wouldn't mind selling C, E class type vehicles in those volumes but keep quiet about it like MB - you almost never hear anyone talk about it but virtually every month the E -class outsells all the others in class and the C-class has pretty good volume numbers too. I have a feeling the R-class will sell well but in reality there's not a whole lot of vehicles to compare it to - kinda like the CLS.
