Hi folks...We're closing the long threads because in short, it's causing our site's slowness lately.

The reason behind this is because one of the problems of vBulletin 3.0 is the way it builds the search index. It works fine on small threads, but when you have a huge thread it eats a ton of memory and is hard on the database server. When this happens, slowness occurs. And so, in order to curb this, we have to close down the active megathreads and start new ones.
