No you can’t. When I ordered one last year and it was ready (before I was ready), they kept calling/ texting / emailing me and finally asked me to cancel the order if I was not ready to buy. I got my $2500 refund at that time within a month.

It's gone up $500 ever 3 weeks since April, and I expect that same pattern to continue as Tesla also anticipates the bill passing. Might as well lock in the lower rate now.
I ordered a Y on Monday. Lead time was 2-13 weeks. Today on their site it says 4-8. Everyone says relax and enjoy the wait.

the only way you’d have to pay any increases in price is if you make a change to your order after an increase occurs. Otherwise, you can make changes at no extra cost. And if there is a decrease they honor that.

Why is no one here buying the Ford “Tesla killer” Mach-E? It’s got the Tax credit and the good panel gaps, and the volume knob!

I liked it, my wife did not. A mach-e spec'ed out to match a Tesla feature for feature is actually $2-3g more. Many dealers have limited stock and want mark ups...or you order and pay msrp and wait up to 6 months for delivery.

I'm not paying MSRP on a Ford. And they still dont have the battery tech and infrastructure that Tesla has.

Same problem with every other EV on the market; inconsistent charging infrastructure. By and large the Supercharger network is still superior in terms of availability, reliability, and exclusivity. If everyone else had access to the Supercharge network, I would prefer something like the XC40 or Polestar 2 for the build quality and refinement.

Nope. Price is locked when you agree to the order and pay the deposit. It can go down but not up. They haven't increased the price of the M3P in a long time (the past few increases weren't applicable to the performance) but my price is the same thing I agree to way back when.

Technically yes, you can refuse a VIN when it's assigned if you want. Once the car is actually built and at your dealership you either have to take it or cancel the order.

Their site changes every day lol. Just check your order page and see what the expected delivery is...and then promptly ignore it since it won't be accurate the next day or the day after.

Charging infrastructure and the Mockey GT isn't available yet.

Bigger question is why aren't you buying a Tesla?

There are far more EVs in Renault Zoe class now in France. Tesla is one car company.
Renualt group is now behind Stellantis.
In sharp increase (+ 45.2% compared to the same period of 2020), the French electricity market is now dominated by Stellantis (31% of sales over the first 5 months of the year). The Renault group (21%) should nevertheless catch up with the very promising marketing of the Dacia Spring .

For the moment, it is the Twingo III which stands out as its second best-selling model (3463 copies). The Fiat 500 closes the top 5, not far behind with 3,450 registrations in five months.

Tesla Inc. shares tumbled on a report that the electric-car maker’s Chinese orders dropped by almost half in May.

The stock, which was already down more than 30% from the late January peak through Wednesday, fell 5.3% Thursday. The shares also slipped after a U.S. regulator disclosed recalls of more than 5,500 Model 3 and Y vehicles as well as almost 2,200 Model Ys over separate seat-belt flaws.

Tesla’s monthly net orders in China dropped to about 9,800 in May from more than 18,000 in April, according to The Information, a San Francisco-based tech news company, which cited a person with knowledge of the data. That’s just the latest in a string of reports that seem to suggest a sales slowdown in a country widely regarded as one of the most important markets for the industry.

Tesla has had issues in China of late with a dissatisfied customer who went viral, and government concerns over data collection.

Dan Levy, an analyst at Credit Suisse Group AG, said Wednesday that Tesla’s market share in global electric-vehicle sales had dropped in April — adding that the company lost ground in China, Europe and the U.S. In Norway, a bellwether country for electric vehicles, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has taken the sales lead.

Tesla has now had recalls emerge on back-to-back days. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration posted a notice Wednesday saying the carmaker will inspect, tighten or replace brake calipers that could be loose on almost 6,000 Model 3 and Y vehicles.

Tesla Inc's chief of its heavy trucking unit, Jerome Guillen, has left the company, the electric-car maker said on Monday, barely three months after taking over the role.

Guillen, who has been with the company for over a decade, was named president of Tesla Heavy Trucking unit in March, with a mandate to lead the company's entry into the heavy trucks market.

Guillen previously oversaw the company's entire vehicles business as president of the Automotive unit, a role to which he was appointed in 2018.

Tesla is yet to begin delivering its battery-powered Semi electric commercial truck, saying supply constraints could delay its mass production to 2022.

Wow, it was rumored that his semi truck role was a demotion because he wanted to stay in Nevada. That sounds like an interesting story, from the head of automotive, to semi truck to gone in less than 3 months

I see the media is reporting every FUD rumor they hear about Tesla again and then days later retracting it. Rinse.Repeat. Learn nothing from past mistakes, almost as if it was intentional.

Tesla's China-made vehicle sales surge 29% in May - auto association

Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) sold 33,463 China-made electric cars in May, including exports, a 29% jump from April, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on Tuesday.

China's new electric vehicle sales surged 177% to 185,000 cars in May from a year earlier, CPCA said. Overall passenger vehicle sales, however, rose just 1.1% to 1.66 million cars.

Tesla's China sales - accounting for nearly a third of its total sales - is closely watched as a sign of the U.S. company's health in its second biggest market, where the company has invested heavily and often changed its own marketing playbook to attract customers.
The idea that Tesla sales and demand which have continued to climb month after month for the past decade would suddenly reverse and drop by half is just ridiculous, but the media doesn't think critically, doesn't seek a second source before running a negative Tesla story, and somehow the "random" Tesla twitter accounts got it right again days before the MSM did.

Great 15 year old video from Jim Cramer telling hedge funds how to plant fake stories in the media to manipulate the stock price in their favor. It's well known that they do this but the SEC does nothing about it, and the media still plays along

You pay more for insurance? My M3P is $30/6mo cheaper than my VW and Progressive doesn't even recognize the Golf R as being any different than a Golf. The Tesla is cheaper to insure than my wife's Subaru Ascent.

Yes, go touch a yoke wheel and you will have your moment of insanity fixed.

That said, the convenience of an e-car is definitely there. Just well, if you are returning to the petrol world, you're gonna have to pay if you wanna play.

When the day that most of the cars on the road on E-cars comes, i am sure the electricity rate will be very different as well... Supply and Demand.

Then the gas prices will drop and everyone will switch back to gas
