Very loose rumors currently for this thing. DO not take it seriously yet.

Ooh...looks like it would be fun if it were made.

My roommate's been talking about picking up at 914 in a few months. Would be fun to have around.

The red sketch is ugly. The silver one, hot.

914 was an old school porsche model that was popular amongst racers because it was small, mid-engined, and light-weight.

Hmmm... if they are going to make it hopefully they will stick to the philosophy that made the original popular... Cheap and lightweight...

For those of you who aren't familiar with the original 914, it was a "joint" venture between Porsche and VW... Porsche ultimately put the car out, but for some time it was thought that it was going to carry a VW badge...

Nice little cars (altho' they were prone to rusting). Mid-engined 4 cly. Came with the Type4 aircooled motor in 1.7, 1.8, and 2.0L displacements depending on the year... (similiar to the engine in my 79 VW bus) more info: http://vista.pca.org/stl/914.htm

There were some rare 6 cly. factory versions of the 914 (the 914-6) which command top dollar ($20K) on the market.

The silver one is just a design exercise from some school (California Design Center?) that was created for an article in Road & Track that talked about the general future of automobile. I'd disregard it completely.
