Man, if it did not look like a 10year old Caddy Catera 2 door, I would consider this car. V-8, RWD, 350hp, easy to mod, interior is sweet, GTO image......
Maybe next time around. Or wait, maybe import a Holden kit....

its nice, but i think its bland also. i'm already bored looking at it, if they have versions under 30k like the z i will take a look. a little heavy though-the reason for the conservative times.

who else isnt hot for the exhaust? i like dual pipes like on our cars, something with symetry, the 2 small pipes on one side just doesnt enstil anything in me. its gonna be loud, but for a muscle car the exhaust note better be baller.

Its boring, it looked boring when i saw it at the auto show, and it still looks boring with those numbers. The interiors was nothing to write home about either. Ill hold out for something better.

well it all depends on what gm has done with the engine, i don't see the camaros straight line performance being duplicated. so far it sounds like all they've done is rebadged an hsv gto coupe which is rated @ 255kw, australian mags have dynoed it at 184kw which they say is good for 262kw at the fly:351hp. ~right around the old camaro/firebird numbers.
only thing is it weighs ~3680lbs compared to a stipped firebird formula @3341lbs running 13.18@108mph and a z28ss weighing 3439lbs running 13.42@106mph(both from the same review). 100lbs looks like .2 tenths, so i put in a guess of 13.85@low 100's.

I don't think so... "and pipes-only running from each muffler all the way to the dual chrome exhaust tips which are packaged next to each other at the rear fascia."
And those pics show 2 tips on the left side only.

!!! Pontiac to add hood scoops on 2005 model GTO
Good for you GM. You are listening to what people want. Slowly but surely. I like this move. Shows how humble GM is. It's difficult to be humble and at the same time be the largest automaker on the planet.

DETROIT -- The 2005 Pontiac GTO will be restyled to include hood scoops, General Motors sources said.
The 2004 model GTO, which does not have hood scoops, has prompted GTO fans to write letters to GM asking the automaker to bring back the scoops that were on the original 1964 GTO. The scoops enhanced the car's performance image.
Hood scoops can help cool the engine or force air into the motor. It is unclear if the scoops will be functional or decorative.
The new GTO is a rear-wheel-drive high-performance coupe with a 5.7-liter engine derived from the Chevrolet Corvette. Pontiac officials say the car's acceleration, handling and braking will be the best ever in a GTO.

Pontiac also estimates pricing at $33,000 (add $695 for the six-speed manual over the four-speed automatic) in a release announcing an advance ordering option for those fans who can’t wait. For more, see www.pontiac.com/gto

Hey Gav, your link has a "." you might want to get rid of.
As far as the GTO goes...I'm hoping the hood scoops make it look more aggressive 'cause right now it's pretty boring. The GTO is going to be Pontiac's flagship muscle car but it has the most converative styling in the Pontiac stable. Why is that?

CLS has a dual exhaust but it's not really a dual exhaust because there is only one exhaust pipe exiting from the exhaust manifold. A true dual exhaust has two exhaust manifolds. So it would have two exhaust pipes running back from the engine.....hence dual exhausts.

Hell, I didn't even hear that they were doing dual exhausts yet. I know the Pontiac guys were bitching real loud about the original dual outlet tips (on one side)
Good for Pontiac for responding to the enthusiasts before putting out the car.

GTO/Monaro get 4wd
can't apply 4wd to left hand drive? huh?
Holden, General Motors’ Australian offshoot, will offer permanent four-wheel drive in the Monaro, the right-hand-drive equivalent of the reborn Pontiac GTO. The two-door revealed at the recent Sydney motor show also gets a host of exterior styling changes. The car goes on sale in Australia next June, but it is doubtful the four-wheel-drive system will make its way to the United States due to problems with fitting left-hand drive and the four-wheel-drive system into the car. Holden is already working on an engineering solution for left-hand-drive cars, which it hopes to adopt in time for the next-generation Monaro/Pontiac GTO due out in 2007.

New Vauxhall thunders in from down under
Posted by: kak on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 - 08:29 PM CET
Vauxhall today confirmed it will introduce a true rear wheel drive musclecar for car enthusiasts - the Monaro. The new Vauxhall Monaro will be available from the spring of 2004 powered by a 5.7 litre V8 engine developing 328hp and 347lbs/ft of torque. This stylish full sized four-seater coupe will accelerate to 60mph in just over six seconds and reach a top speed in excess of 160mph.
The Monaro was launched in Australia in 2001 and Vauxhall has decided to bring this iconic coupe to car enthusiasts in the UK, but only in a limited number of 300 per year.
The car will be sold in the UK with a comprehensive specification including leather eight-way electric seats, 18 inch alloy wheels, full size driver, passenger and side airbags, electronic climate control and six-disc autochanger.
There are two driver aids to handle the considerable power and torque. A traction control system - with an off switch - and the accelerator.
The Vauxhall Monaro will start from approx £28,500 and offer more power per pound than any car on the UK roads.
Kevin Wale, Vauxhall managing director, said: "The Vauxhall Monaro is a great car for the real enthusiast. The Monaro is an icon in Australia and I am sure the UK car enthusiast will thoroughly enjoy it. This also demonstrates GM’s ability to bring the best of its products to fill niches in other markets."
