The Ferrari SF90 Stradale was actually a special model to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari, and while the main power comes from a twin-turbo V8 engine, the SF90 also comes with three additional electric motors for a total power output of 968 hp (735 kW) with a torque figure of 800 Nm … surely impressive numbers straight from the factory in Maranello, Italy.

But we wouldn’t be writing about NOVITEC if they didn’t manage to upgrade the already potent Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the NOVITEC exhaust system with metal catalysts boosts the overall power to 1,033 hp (760 kW) with 858 Nm of torque, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 2.5 seconds after a visit at NOVITEC with a top speed in excess of 350 km/h.

To achieve this increase in power, the NOVITEC exhaust system is created with 100-cell metal catalysts and twin stainless tailpipes that come with a diameter of 112 millimeters, complete with beautiful carbon exhaust tips, this system optimizes exhaust flow and because of the fully thermally insulated pipes the temperature in the engine bay is reduced … if you prefer even more heat control you can always opt for the NOVITEC 999 gold-plating.

The NOVITEC exhaust system is available with, or without electronic sound management, you know, the active control flaps in the exhaust pipes to set the sound to ‘LOUD’ or ‘INSANELY LOUD’, if you want to get the lightest possible exhaust system for your Ferrari SF90 you should get the NOVITEC system in INCONEL, a lightweight material used on Formula One exhaust systems.

While the sound is extremely important, especially on a hybrid car, looks shouldn’t be forgotten other, and to that extend NOVITEC usually teams up with VOSSEN for their forged alloy wheels, and this black Ferrari isn’t any different, a set of high-tech forged wheels made in the USA are fitted, in this case, finished in ‘Bronzino’, but NOVITEC offers 72 different colors to their clients.

These NOVITEC NF10 wheels look like a ten-spoke design, but if you look closely it’s, in fact, a ‘double’ five-spoke design, and thanks to some amazing machining tech, VOSSEN managed to create a set of wheels that perfectly fill out the wheel arches on this Ferrari SF90 Stradale, 9.5×20 inch wheels at the front with 255/35 ZR 20 tires and bigger and wider wheels in 12×21 inch for the rear, this time with massive 325/35 R 21 tires fitted, the staggered dimensions emphasize the wedge shape of this Ferrari.
With custom wheels come the need for lowering a car in my humble opinion, and it seems NOVITEC feels the same way, they offer a set of lowering springs to bring the SF90 30mm lower to the street at the front and 25mm lower at the rear, just enough to make a visual impact, and by lowering the center of gravity, this also improves on handling.

NOVITEC also offers customization for the interior, offering the client the option to color match the leather or Alcantara upholstery to the color they selected on the wheels, but as usual, the demo car doesn’t show any custom interior treatment … I guess now it’s time to wait for NOVITEC to release an aero kit for the SF90, or perhaps even an N-LARGO limited edition.

I think we can all agree the Ferrari SF90 isn’t a slow car, nor a bad-looking supercar, but when you are shopping in this category, you are probably looking for something different, something you can’t order directly from Maranello … and this is where tuners come into play, like NOVITEC GmbH from Germany, which not only changes the looks of this amazing Prancing Horse but also adds another 109 hp to the already impressive number this hybrid delivers straight from the factory.

A total power output of 1,109 hp can propel the NOVITEC tuned Ferrari SF90 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds, the 200 km/h mark is reached after a mere 6.3 seconds while the top speed of this beauty is set beyond 340 km/h, these increased numbers are the result of adding not one, but two NOVITEC N-Tronic modules to the 4-Liter twin-turbo V8 ICE unit of the SF90’s hybrid drive system, these modules hold reprogrammed maps for both injection and ignition while also raising the electronic boost pressure limits set from the factory.

It isn’t a secret that changing the somewhat restricted factory exhaust (which is required to keep the car street-legal globally) will have a positive effect on both sound and power output, so NOVITEC fits their own high-performance exhaust system, either with or without electronic sound management, even a 999 fine gold plating is possible, while massive 112 mm stainless exhaust pipes come with real, visible carbon-fiber surrounds for that special, exclusive look, and if are looking for even more bespoke parts, you can have the NOVITEC 100-cell sport catalyst fitted, which happens to be available with gold plating too.

Installing both the power modules and the custom exhaust will unleash a total of 889 hp from the V8 engine, while the maximum torque goes from 800 Nm up to e918 Nm, on the other hand, NOVITEC doesn’t offer any modifications for the three electric motors, hence why the total power output comes in at 816 kW or 1,109 hp. Adding power is one thing, but NOVITEC proud itself in also offering both more instant throttle response and the even more powerful in-gear acceleration in any driving situation.

While we all like a lot of power and performance, you’ll have to agree that the eye of the beholder does not always detect this at first glance, so NOVITEC took the Ferrari SF90 Stradale into the wind tunnel and developed an amazing-looking aerodynamic package, with lots of clear carbon fiber naturally, as we all love the contrast between this bright Rosso paint and the dark, almost black CF pattern on the exterior of this car, and besides looking good, this also increases downforce at high speeds.

At the front, we find a new NOVITEC front spoiler, complete with detachable side sections to route air over the front wheel arches, the front hood comes with two bespoke, carbon fiber fins, one at the front of the hood, the second one in front of the windshield, NOVITEC also offers replacement front fenders, which come with exposed carbon fiber fins above the wheels, but are in fact completely made from the same lightweight material, the air intakes behind the doors have been redesigned by NOVITEC to direct more air into the engine compartment, but probably the most impressive item is that magnificent carbon fiber duck-tail at the rear, I really like this style, to be honest.

More carbon fiber can be found on the massive rear lower diffuser and the custom roof spoiler, but also on the bespoke exterior rear view mirrors and on the door window trim, inside the engine compartment, and in the luggage space, while these magnificent wheels are once again created in cooperation between NOVITEC and US-based Vossen, these tailor-made high-tech forged wheels are named NF10 with five twin-spoke center lock styling for that special racing look, the largest possible option is a combination of 9.5Jx21 wheels at the front and 12Jx21 rims at the rear axle with high-performance tires in 255/30 ZR 21 and 325/25 ZR 21 respectively.

Naturally, custom wheels also demand the fitment of lowering springs, the NOVITEC springs will bring the Ferrari SF90 about 30 mm lower at the front and 25 mm at the rear but wait, there is more, a front lift system controlled from the cockpit is available as an option as well, allowing to raise the front of the bodywork by about 40 millimeters for driving over obstacles, but when this function is not active, the SF90 rides lower than with the production suspension.

The Ferrari SF90 Spider comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain from the factory in Maranello, combining a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering already 769 bhp on its own with a torque figure of 590 lb/ft, add the three electric motors with their 7.9-kilowatt-hour battery pack, and the total power output rises to a staggering 986hp, all going through the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, some really impressive numbers that will propel the factory standard car to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and don’t run out of breath until she reaches 211 mph … but as always, things can always be improved upon.

Novitec will take your standard Ferrari SF90 Spider and creates a very personal, more aerodynamic, and more powerful convertible, fitting new maps for the fuel injection, the ignition, and electronic boost pressure control that have been going through rigorous testing to be completed in the form of two NOVITEC N-TRONIC modules, one for each bank of cylinders, add the custom made exhaust system into the equation, complete with a 100-cell metal catalyst for emission control, but there is also a 999 fine gold plating version available for better heat dissipation.

Not only does it look good, but it also sounds even better, and just in case you want to keep your neighbors as friends, NOVITEC offers a version with, and one without, electronic sound management with actively controlled butterfly valves, so you don’t wake up the entire neighborhood when you leave the house in the morning, you’ll have to admit those two, massive 112 mm carbon fiber surrounded exhaust tips look breathtaking while sounding great at the same time.

So we end up with engine tuning and better sound, but what about performance you might wonder … how about a total power output of 816 kW or 1,109 hp in total, 654 kW or 889 hp from the ICE V8 alone, that’s an increase of 80 kW or 109 hp, the result … reaching 100 km/h from a standstill now takes just 2.4 seconds, in just 6.5 seconds you’re at 200 km/h, and if you really keep pushing, you’ll end up at a top speed of a mesmerizing 340 km/h or 211 mph, but what would a performance increase mean if you still don’t stand out in the crowd? You can’t do 211 mph on Rodeo Drive now can you?


So you’ll start to select the aerodynamic add-on parts from NOVITEC to your order sheet too, and these weren’t just drawn in 3D on a computer to be virtually tested before production, NOVITEC actually takes their aero parts into a real, full-size wind tunnel during the development of their carbon fiber spoilers, so they really improve downforce and stability at high speeds, and as all of these parts are made from ‘naked carbon fiber’, they don’t really add to the overall weight of the Ferrari SF90 Spider too much either.

NOVITEC Manufaktur is their in-house production shop that effectively hand-finishes these carbon fiber parts, like the front spoiler lip that comes complete with detachable side fins on the front fascia to create even more downforce at speed, the side flaps actually help to direct airflow beyond the front wheels, add the stunning ‘ducktail’ rear spoiler and a stunning lower rear diffuser for improved stability and aerodynamic efficiency while keeping the entire look and feel of the NOVITEC SF90 Spider a balanced total package.

A really stunning addition from NOVITEC for the Ferrari SF90 Spider can be seen above the front wheels, the Race Fenders with carbon fiber air vents above the wheels not only make this convertible look like a race car, but also helps to vent hot air from the front brakes with fewer restrictions from the wheel wells, add the carbon fiber surrounds for the lower air outlet and a cover for the windshield and the overall looks of your factory-spec Ferrari SF90 Spider are completely changed.

We’ve covered the front and rear modifications, but a NOVITEC aero package just isn’t complete with a nice pair of side sills, made from visible carbon fiber, just like the window trim and the side mirrors, an additional touch of carbon fiber can be found inside the air deflection behind the doors, not only does it look good, but it also optimizes the flow of cool air into the engine compartment. Even more carbon fiber trim is available for the inside of the engine bay, the engine cover itself, and even inside the front-located luggage compartment.

As usual, American high-end manufacturer Vossen is the supplier for these NOVITEC NF10 forged and machined wheels, 9.5Jx21 with 255/30 ZR 21 rubber on the front axle and massively wide 12Jx21 and 325/25 ZR 21 at the rear to completely fill out the large wheel arches on the SF90, and if this NF10 design isn’t to your liking, NOVITEC has a vast selection of other exclusive wheels, available in either 20 or 21 inches, add the NOVITEC sport springs to lower the SF90 Spider by 30mm at the front and 25mm at the rear for that ‘stanced’ look, and by lowering the center of gravity, this also improves handling of this hybrid supercar.
