The second picture (front view) look like a 3rd gen Acura TL with a different grill.

The car doens't look too bad, over all.

The new LS, i think. The current LS is being phased out, so they need a new replacement to place between the town car and the Zephyr.

Looks like the Lincoln LS replacement. The side profile looks too small to be a TC. The design looks really great for Lincoln. Now if Lincoln puts a competent engine in there, they have a winner.

Looks like a winner, better than the Zephr. I don't like the Zephyr's interior, though. I hope Lincoln has a better one for this car.

I don't think that is the new Town Car. If it is, boy, did they go in a different direction design wise!!

This is the D3 (500) based LS replacement that will be positioned above the Zephyr and below the Town Car replacement. I think it's supposed to have AWD standard, and a choice of the new 3.5L Duratec (the one that will be introduced in the new Aviator) and a V8, so that Lincoln finally has a credible player in the lux (M/GS/E/5/A6/RL) segment. I realy like the design. Hopefully the next TC will look good also.

The Continental nameplate is due to return, but I think they will save it for the top-of-the-line Lincoln.

I've also heard rumors of a S197 Mustang based Mark. I like the idea and all it needs is 4 valve heads and a IRS rear.

I heard the same thing. And it's sorely needed. It's amazing how tight Lincoln's lineup could be if the put forth the effort... but from what I've seen, they're on the right track now, IMO.

Like the new Aviator, with its wannabe-Lexus look?

Other than that, and the now-released Zephyr, Lincoln design has remained, well, conceptual. We'll see once they actually release the fully-redone lineup.

Side note: Lincoln's the last 'luxury' automaker to not go alphanumeric in its model designations.

M Type: Lincoln's new Aviator will be named: MKX. So much for the non-alphanumeretic designations.

Photos in the Detroit News identified the models as 'Ford Edge' and 'Lincoln Aviator.' I can't find the Sunday Edition piece that I was looking for, but here's a sample of the kind of stories being run:
http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...73231372561654

BlueOvalForums don't really discuss Lincoln-Mercury all that much.

Officially, Ford has been rather quiet on Lincoln. A last-minute name-changeover could happen.

If they put a smooth V8 making 340+HP in that Lincoln plus good driving dynamics they'll have a winner.

Zephyr is a historic nameplate from the 30s that Lincoln has a connection to. I dont recall the Aviator being a historic nameplate for the brand, so it is easier to dump.

The only Lincoln name I care for is Continental. If historical nameplates are that important, bring back 'Versailles'

Lincoln D3 concept which is an LS replacement, based off volvo(s60, xc90, s80) platform. Proposed mid 2007 production. Also a longer wheelbase flagship will be based off the same platform.

I give it the exterior a strong B+. Interior; an A. This is a great looking concept. And what we see is basically what we'll be getting in about a year. It'll also get the new 3.5L Duratec. Lincoln's new strategy (like Acura) is making alot of equipment standard at a comeptitive price will work well, here. Yamaha's V8 is a good engine, but they're really coming underpowered by today's standards. When this is introduced, the price to play will be 375HP. Very nice, Lincoln.

The interior looks confused to me. Especially the steering wheel. Outside looks great! Lincoln has came a long way.

looks great! But 20inch wheels? How big is this thing? Because honestly, I would never have known they were 20 inches by looking at the pic.

Its the same Yamaha V8 that Volvo XC90 has been using. I expect this is Ford's universal V8 from now on.

I really like the interior. The exterior is very good looking, but the interior is the strongest point. I think it'll be really impressive in person.
