Lexus SC500 in the works
Nothing else to report other than, that I read that Lexus will be bringing back the legendary SC (edit: Coupe) line with an SC500 car in 2006 model year, after the next generation LS500 is introduced.
It will use the same engine as the next-gen LS and will go head to head against the MB CL line.

"...I read that Lexus will be bringing back the legendary SC COUPE line". Sorry. You are right in principle.

i saw this article yesterday which was interesting

""Toyota-Yamaha super V8
Toyota said it will launch a high-rev 4-litre V8 in future luxurious cars, including Lexus LS. The engine is being jointly developed with Yamaha (like the current 190hp Celica engine) since early last year. It will feature Yamaha’s special intake system and will be able to rev to 8000rpm. If so, it seems 400 horsepower is possible. Then the LS and GS will be really fearsome.
The development of this engine also coincide with the rumour that the company is going to launch a 400hp super roadster based on SC430. Toyota’s intention was implied by the Tokyo show car FXS, although the car looks infeasible for production in this form. It is believed that the super roadster will be used to lift the company’s image together with its new F1 program.
Toyota’s partnership with Yamaha recently results in a customized version of Mark II sedan, whose 2.5-litre twin-turbo engine is boosted from 280 to 300 horsepower. ""

That doesn't make much sense, for the 4.3 liter V8 (which would have little in common with the 'SC500's' 5.0 liter) is supposedly capable of at least 350HP. Maybe.
I do know an SC300 is planned, which would make it's return, after having been absent since the 1st generation SC was discontinued. No manual will be offered.
