Press release...
Following the highly successful introduction of the C-X75 supercar to the media for test evaluation in June 2013, Jaguar is releasing a behind-the-scenes film of the car's development:C-X75 - A hybrid supercar prototype without equal. Click here to view the film.
The film features contributions from the car's lead programme engineersand reveals the challenges overcome in developing a vehicle with a 220mph top speed but that is also capable of producing less than 89g of CO2 per kilometre and can even run with zero emissions for up to 60km.
When Jaguar unveiled the C-X75 concept in 2010, it was the beginning of a new chapter in innovation and technological advancement that would see the car evolve from a design study to a fully working prototype in just two years.
In that incredibly short timespan, Jaguar and development partner Williams Advanced Engineering have created an all-wheel drive, plug-in parallel hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with the world's highest specific power engine and Jaguar's first carbon composite monocoque chassis.
Although the decision was taken in 2012 that as a result of the global economic climate the C-X75 would not enter full production, it was clear that it was a powerful showcase for Jaguar's world-leading expertise in lightweight vehicle construction and the ideal test-bed for the company's innovative research into high-performance, low-emission powertrains.
The great achievements in the development of C-X75 prototypes - including cutting-edge hybrid technologies, carbon composite materials and advanced design solutions pioneered in association with Williams Advanced Engineering - will be utilised in other areas of research and development, innovative future products and next-generation engineering for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.
Highest power and torque density
The C-X75 has a combined power output in excess of 850bhp and 1000Nm of torque, thanks to its state-of-the-art, Formula 1-inspired, 1.6-litre dual-boosted (turbocharged and supercharged) four-cylinder powerplant which generates 502bhp at 10,000 rpm.
It is allied to the highest torque and power density electric motors in production, which generate a further 390 horsepower. The battery pack in the C-X75 is the highest continuously rated power PHEV pack in the world, capable of delivering more than 300kW over the full state of the charge window.
The C-X75 can sprint from 0-100mph in less than six seconds, thanks to its advanced 7-speed automated manual transmission that allows gearshifts in under 200 milliseconds. The very first C-X75 prototype exceeded 200mph in testing with ease, and the car has a theoretical maximum velocity of 220mph.
The car's deployable aerofoil and underfloor aerodynamics create more than 200kg of downforce at 200mph, and active systems enhance its high-speed stability.
Ultra low emissions and pure electric mode
Thanks to the most extreme PHEV specification of any mobile battery in development, the C-X75 will also run for 60km in pure electric vehicle mode and its CO2 emissions fall below 89g/km.
The C-X75 project allows Jaguar to stake an even stronger claim as the UK's most significant investor in innovative technology. The results of the C-X75 programme, in particular in advanced powertrain technologies and lightweight composites, demonstrate Jaguar's technical leadership at the very cutting-edge of automotive development and manufacturing.

I think they should just bite the bullet & resume plans to produce this. The economy can't be that terrible if Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Pagani, Koenigsegg, & Bugatti are in the process of continuing to sell $1 million+ cars. This car has the chance to be everything the XJ220 should have been.

Some dude
Not that I'd ever be able to afford it but I'm still sad this won't reach production.

Press release...
Tonight, Jaguar Land Rover celebrated its vehicles appearing in the new Bond adventure, SPECTRE. Cars, including the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and the iconic Land Rover Defender, stole the show as they were unveiled in public for the first time at the palatial Thurn und Taxis in Frankfurt.
Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) and David Bautista (Hinx) were guests of honour at the glamorous event showcasing special stunt vehicles used in the latest instalment of the James Bond series. Guests were entertained by British singer and musician John Newman, who performed a number of top ten hits from his album.
SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond film, from Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, sees the Jaguar C-X75 drive through the moonlit streets of Rome in one of the movie's most iconic high speed chase scenes. Driven by Hinx, played by David Bautista, the C-X75 supercar, named the most advanced Jaguar ever created, was provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) in collaboration with development partner Williams Advanced Engineering headquarters in Oxfordshire, England.
SVO was created in June 2014 to focus on meeting the increasing expectations of today's most discerning and enthusiastic Jaguar and Land Rover customers. Working on the development of high performance versions of existing models, luxury bespoke commissions and limited run collector editions, it represents the very pinnacle of the two iconic brands.
Specially modified Land Rover Defenders and the fastest, most powerful Land Rover ever, the Range Rover Sport SVR also star in major action sequences shot in Austria. The highly capable Defenders were constructed by the JLR Special Operations division with huge 37-inch diameter off-road tyres and enhanced body protection to tackle the challenging terrain of the snow-covered mountain roads used for filming.
Actor David Bautista said, "To have the opportunity to be a part of an iconic chase scene in a Bond movie and to drive the C-X75 supercar was like a dream come true for me. It truly is a beautiful beast of a car that will go down in movie history."
Naomie Harris, who will reprise the role of Moneypenny in SPECTRE said: "I made my Bond debut in the Defender, and I have so many fond memories shooting that sequence in Turkey. It's such a special franchise to be a part of, and I'm thrilled to be here in Frankfurt with the Jaguar Land Rover team".
Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, John Edwards, said: "For Jaguar Land Rover to once again be a part of the iconic vehicle line ups in one of the most celebrated film franchises in the world represents a proud moment for us. It's an incredible opportunity to showcase production and concept cars alike and we look forward to continuing this relationship well into the future."
Fans around the world will be treated to a host of exclusive behind the scenes SPECTRE content on Jaguar and Land Rover's social channels and brand new websites, including special access to unseen footage and interviews with the design, SVO and stunt teams as well as a stunning 360 dynamic walk-around of the Jaguar C-X75.

HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carriers will be the biggest and most powerful warships ever constructed for the Royal Navy. They will be utilised by all three sectors of the UK Armed Forces and will provide eight acres of sovereign territory which can be deployed around the world. Both ships will be versatile enough to be used for operations ranging from supporting war efforts to providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief.
