That said, the QR25DE has had its share of problems and from my personal experience is nowhere near as refined as the K-series. (I wont even go into how problematic the QR has been for Nissan.) IMHO, when it comes to V6 motors, VQ > J-series...but when it comes to NA 4 cylinders, K>>QR and just about every other NA inline 4 on the market.

Why would Infiniti put the QR25 into the G35? If they offer a smaller, more fuel efficient engine it would be the VQ25HR. It's a V6 so it doesn't tarnish the brand with the whole "I-4 in a luxury brand = fail" stigma, while still having the power to compete with the other guys.
225hp and 38MPG.

Nissan GT 2012 business plan reveals future plans, confirms Infiniti G37 convertible and "mini SUV"

Earlier on Tuesday, Nissan unveiled its new business plan — dubbed 'Nissan GT 2012' (G for Growth and T for Trust) — which outlines the company's goals through the year 2012. While the future market outlook is less than ideal, Nissan has set some pretty ambitious targets, and even revealed a couple of future models.
The Nissan GT 2012 plan will rely on three pillars: quality leadership, zero-emission vehicle leadership and a five percent revenue growth on average over five years. The plan also calls for 60 all-new models in the next five years and the release of at least 15 new technologies per years starting in 2009.
On the zero-emissions vehicle front, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn says that the U.S. and Japan will see the first Nissan-badged electric vehicles in 2010, with the rest of the world following in 2012.
The report — which also included plans for Nissan's Infiniti division — revealed that two new models will be bowing in the fiscal year 2008. Ghosn officially announced that Infiniti will be getting a drop-top version of the G37 coupe. However, it remains unclear if the new model will feature a conventional soft top or a retractable hard top unit.
Perhaps a little more interesting, the report also states that the Japanese automaker will be launching a "mini SUV" this year. The report didn't specify if the new baby SUV would wear an Infiniti or Nissan badge, but it would seem that the mini SUV is likely the premium small car Infiniti is developing. Whatever the case, all should be revealed by the end of the 2008 fiscal year.

i don't understand infiniti's logic. due to gas prices, now would be good a time to release a smaller sedan based maybe on another Nissan car we don't see here in USA, but like in Japan, just like the TSX is based on the JDM/Euro Accord. i would be happy to see again a VQ25 motor with 230-240hp and 230lb/tq that gets 30mpg and i would be set with a $28K starting price too.

Nissan has released a single vague sketch of a new compact crossover it plans to launch in 2010. It will be built at the company's Sunderland plant in the U.K. The facility currently assembles the Qashqai, which will continue to be made there.
To make room for the new model, Nissan will shift production of the Micra compact to a Renault-Nissan plant in India.
Specific details about the new crossover are unknown. Some reports seem to suggest the model is intended for global sales, including in North America. The Rogue is currently Nissan's smallest crossover offered here.
Judging by the sketch Nissan released, it looks like the new model will have similar styling to the Rogue and Qashqai twins. It might have a coupe-like profile, similar to the Infiniti FX.

That's actually alot to go on. The biggest problem I have is that they want to make an suv. If they make a tight, precise coupe with those lines to battle the 1-Series coupe it'd be pretty hot.

^ Yeah, the EX is the perfect size for a "compact" SUV, IMO. Anything smaller is just to small. It's still my favorite crossover in it's class. The only thing I'd change is raising the ride height on it. It sells slow because it's to close to the road, and reminds customers of what most of the crossovers really are; tall wagons.

Hate to say it, (especially since you guys seem to be having such a blast picking me apart in here), but my original assertion, lacking in eloquence as it may have, still holds: The 1-series has nothing to worry about from anything by InfinitI. Instead it looks like another lame cute-ute from them.
Nissan already has a 1-series fighter in the works anyway; the 370Z is rumored to be tuned to 345 hp.
ok, continue talking shit.
