I dont know how much nonsense you can write. Accord Plug in has 225/50 energy saver tires and its 610 slalom run improves to 40.1mph.
2013 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium vs. 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid: Final Scoring, Performance Data, and Complete Specs
Without energy saver. Accord 225/50 produce 43.1mph of slalom run.
http://media.caranddriver.com/files/...ssat-25-se.pdf
Look at Civic Si.
http://media.caranddriver.com/files/...ssis-chart.pdf
As i said put those 225/50 energy saver tires on IS350F and see how much slalom it can produce. Technologies like PAWS, SHAWD, eShAWD, are well beyond Lexus technical ability. thats it always produce cars that so low to the ground like current IS. its like sitting on old small toilet seat.

damn.. you got some serious tunnel vision.. like i said in prior post.. go out and drive them. stop regurgitating these nonsense based on numbers from magazines. this is why people don't take you seriously. go out and drive IS350 in person and let me know if it feels like sitting on a toilet seat as you described.. and try to be honest..

why should i drive IS350F. when i already know its low belt line car like early 1990s integra where you sit near to the ground have fake feeling of driving.
Acura and Honda are premium compared to the rental brands like Toyota/Lexus. Honda/Acura handling is not compromised by ride height. they are superior by design.

how many excuses left?. first was the g skidpad numbers than slalom run. when i showed that with right size tires Accord run improves you changed the topic to go test drive the car.

this is exactly why you should go out and drive them. you'll know that all those numbers are not everything when it comes to the driving dynamics. i don't have any excuses and those weren't excuses. it was just an example to point out so that numbers don't always matter in real world driving. and stop talking about kind of tires they have. they are offered by honda so it's their fault for putting skinny crappy tires which yielded weak performance numbers, not the people who test them or buy them.
and i liked the early 90s integra. I DROVE THEM FIRST HAND MANY TIMES. I couldn't afford them so I drove some else's. they handled well and had some pep to them. so in your own words, honda/acura used to design cars that gave fake feeling of driving?
dude seriously. your head is so far stuck up honda/acura's arse, it's not even funny. if you can't even carry on a conversation without recognizing any possibility that honda/acura cars are inferior to other makers AND you're not even willing to at least test them out yourself in real life, you don't have right to trash talk other brands, especially in driving dynamics (outside and inside appearance is open to discussion since it's more of a personal taste). it just makes you an idiot spewing nonsense front of a computer. it's like saying a car in Granturismo game sucks just because you drove it in the game but not in real life. ZERO credibility.
and please READ what I said FIRST. and don't respond to me if you don't end up driving IS350. UNLESS YOU DRIVE IT FIRST HAND and give your honest opinion, I have no reason to discuss IS350's handling with you.

why do i have a bad feeling SSFTSX is a 15 year old kid who doesn't even have a license yet, his dad works for honda/acura and one of his family member drives a 2009 TSX... any mature adult would've at least given at least some kind of logical response other than regurgitating figures from a magazine instead of being this stubborn...

All the time... that is why he invested so much on the upgraded tires for his TSX.

2018 Hyundai Sonata debuts in Korea2018 Hyundai Sonata debuts in Korea
This is an updated version of the car that we 1st saw at the 2014 New York auto show, a car that despite being competent has been criticized for being a little on the dull side when it comes to looks. Unsurprisingly, the updates bring extensive changes to the styling, along with some mechanical and safety updates to keep the Sonata in line with newer rivals. It’s clear the designers have adopted the handsome look of the smaller Elantra and Accent, including almost identical treatments for the lights and grille. The latter, known as the Cascading Grille, features a mesh pattern on the Sonata Sport 2.0T model.Other enhancements for the Sport 2.0T model include dark chrome molding for the lower side body, door handles and rear lamp molding. The rear diffuser and dual exhaust tips are also adorned with chrome. In other markets, this model is referred to as the Sonata Turbo.
For the interior, the center stack has been revised and features new controls for the climate functions. A standard 7.0-inch (8.0-in available) touchscreen sits above this and serves as the main hub for the infotainment system. Other changes include new trim options and revised steering wheel designs. In the Sport 2.0T, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and bolstered front seats are featured.
The cabin of the updated Sonata also benefits from new connectivity features. These include an additional USB charging port located at the rear of the center console, an available wireless charging pad, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. The powertrains remain unchanged but an 8-speed automatic replaces the 6-speed automatic on models equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4. Other engine variants continue with the 6-speeder.
In the area of safety, Hyundai lists lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert features.
Note, these specs are for the Korean market and may differ for the updated Sonata in the United States.

The shot posted by AZuser, seems like a bit of a step backwards as compared to the outgoing Sonata.

^ Lexus, Infiniti, Audi, Ford, Lincoln, Jaguar, etc.
Pretty much everyone is going with the oversized grill these days.
Wasn't sure about the changes, but while still think certain areas could have been done better, it's an improvement over the pre-MCE design was was just too staid.
Biggest improvement is the shape/positioning of the headlights.
Looks better in video.

^ Yeah, which is why I never go by photos, much less CGI (which tend to give the most unflattering image of an auto - don't know why automakers keep using CGI).
Video is better, but even that can't replace seeing something in the flesh.

No you are totally right. I can't wait to see it in person. I see some details in that video that look awesome. I love the vertical LED bars.

^ See that your avatar is of the front end of the previous gen Sorento in SX-L trim - which is a good bit better looking than the non SX/SX-L trims.
What are seemingly little changes can make quite the difference in the appearance of an auto.

So they actually made a TON of cosmetic changes vs the standard trims but in the grand scheme of things they make a HUGE difference.

The Hyundai Sonata received a refresh for the 2018 model year, but it seems that version won't be around for long, because a 2020 Hyundai Sonata midsize family sedan has been spied testing. The new car was spotted in Las Vegas testing alongside the competition. This new Sonata also appears to be a complete redesign, since nothing appears to be shared with the current model.
Up front, the new Sonata looks much wider than the current model. Part of this is due to the headlights being moved to sit inline with the top of the grille, as opposed to slightly above on the current model. And while we can't see it clearly, the grille will likely have a similar shape to that of the current model and other Hyundais. The fenders also wrap around the top of the car more, further contributing to the car's wide stance.
The profile of this new Sonata is different, too. It's a bit more traditional in how the engine compartment area doesn't blend into windshield as much. The current Sonata blends the engine, passenger and trunk compartments more. There's also a curve to the bottom of the greenhouse on the new car that lends the car a more graceful, less upright appearance. There is still a fastback look to the rear of the Sonata, but it's stretched out more, again helping the car look less upright.
This is the first time we've seen the next-generation Hyundai Sonata, but it does look as though it's pretty far in development. What we can see of it appears to be production ready. As such, we probably won't have long to wait to see the car revealed. It will probably show up sometime next year in time for the 2020 model year.

The sportiest of Hyundai just got a little less, well, sporty. The 2019 Hyundai SonataSport loses its turbocharged engine for the new model year, leaving a naturally aspirated inline-4 as the only option.
CarsDirect reported the engine's departure from the Sonata Sport on Tuesday, but the 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine still lives on as an option for the Sonata Limited. However, that mean buyers will have to spend nearly $4,000 more to get turbocharged power in the Sonata. The 2018 Sonata Sport starts at $28,485; the 2018 Sonata Limited with the boosted mill runs $32,785. Pricing for the 2019 Sonata is not yet available.
For 2019, Hyundai's 2.4-liter inline-4 will serve the Sonata Sport. It makes 185 horsepower, a far cry from the 2.0-liter turbo's 245 hp.
Buyers looking for a little more grunt without added premium bits from the Sonata Limited trim will be left looking at rival mid-size sedans. The Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, Mazda 6, Chevrolet Malibu, and Toyota Camry all offer higher-power engine options. While the decision to drop the turbocharged engine from the Sport model is rather odd, Hyundai could be simplifying its lineup in preparation for the redesigned 2020 Sonata or hoping to push more buyers either to a more expensive trim or to the soon-to-come new model.
The next-generation Sonata will wear design inspired by the Le Fil Rouge concept car, though it's unclear which powerplants the Korean automaker will stick under the hood. We should see the 2020 Sonata launch in the fall of 2019.

That sport with the 2.4 NA 4 banger better be loaded up the ass cuz at $28,485 starting, that is crazy even by Honda's standard if it is not loaded, let alone Hyundai.
#1189
Quick google says the 2018 Sonata starts at $22k?
Doesn't sound like it's undergoing any huge changes until MY2020, so the Sport is probably a midlevel trim.
(I don't cross-shop anything in the Sonata category either)

That article is very confusing because the current 2018 Sport+ starts at 24k... which make sense.

^ Isn't the Sport available with both engines? Maybe the N/A Sport is the $24k & the turbo is $28?

Hyundai has uncovered its new generation 2020 Sonata a little over a month before it celebrates its formal world premiere at the 2019 New York Auto Show on April 19.
Penned from a clean sheet, the eighth generation of Hyundai’s mid-size sedan marks a return to a more sporty, four-door coupe body style akin to the sixth generation model from 2009.
It’s the first production model to embody the Korean brand’s new design mantra dubbed Sensuous Sportiness design that was previewed by last year’s Le Fil Rouge concept (HDC-1) and which to some extent, hinted at the new Sonata.
“Sonata celebrates innovative coupe-like silhouette,” said Sang Yup Lee, senior vice president and head of the Hyundai Design Center. “A short overhang, sloping roofline and low deck lid create a balanced feel, and Hyundai’s signature chrome accent now goes all the way into the hood, making it look even longer. It also has LED lighting built in. These cues bring the Sensuous Sportiness design to life.”
In another first for a production Hyundai, the 2020 Sonata borrows of the Hidden Lighting Lamps from the HDC-2 concept car from last year’s Busan Motor Show. As the Korean company puts it, “the Hidden Lighting Lamps appear to be of a chromic material when switched off and become dramatically lit when turned on” to serve as Daytime Running Lights (DLRs).
Hyundai tells us that the new mid-size sedan comes with a 30mm (1.2 in.) lower height and a width extended by 25mm (1 in.). Its wheelbase is extended by 35mm (1.4 in), and its whole length by 45mm (1.8 in.).
Hyundai’s efforts to give the Sonata a more premium feel and attractive design aren’t limited to the exterior, as the cabin has been overhauled accordingly. Bypassing the designers’ claims of elements being inspired by a Stealth aircraft, it does look like a better place to sit in than before, with the compressed the height of the dashboard and HVAC vents giving it a cleaner and lighter look.
The centre-gauge cluster display is fully digital, while the infotainment screen gets capacitive touch buttons. There’s also a newly designed automatic transmission control with buttons instead of a traditional shifter. Yesterday, Hyundai confirmed that the Sonata will get a smartphone-based digital key. Owners will be able to download a smartphone app and then use it to unlock and start the vehicle.
Sales of the new Sonata will start worldwide in the second half of the year.

Hyundai (the Sonata in particular) has tended to make sorta derivative looking models...
