If they made that rear glass a hatch (with the trunk), that would be huge- they would probably sell many more than they will.

5 door Accord liftback? People might start calling it the 2nd gen Accord Crosstour though.

I did like the 1st gen Integra 5 door liftback though.

The Crosstour was an awesome car. It's styling, especially in the back, is what ruined it. Otherwise it was a station wagon accord. Which is pretty gangster.

That's the same as saying the Pontiac Aztek was an awesome car, but it's styling is what ruined it.

Meh. Interior was nice and personally, I liked the majority of the car, except for anything beyond the rear wheels.

Yes, it's enough for me to not buy one.... but... it also seems like it wouldn't have taken much to resolve the fugly.

Look at the TLX... they slapped an aspect badge on it, some different wheels, pipes and grill and people are going bananas for them now. It would've been easier to fix the crosstour.

I'd take a TLX over a Crosstour any day

Most probably would. However, there is a subset of us that really like the looks and practicality of a nice wagon. The Crosstour just happened to miss the mark on the "nice looks" part.

Most people prefer an Audi A4. Some prefer the All Road version. Etc.

Just noticed this, it may be the lighting but the 6MT 2.0T Sport trim comes with a black chrome grill???? Looks 1% better IMO.

^ Also looks like the MT model has the adaptive cruise thing up front, makes me excited that someone is finally doing this.

Adaptive cruise control is standard now across all trims. Yes even base.

Personally, I like the car. It isn't a slam dunk, but the inside is awesome and the outside just needs a bit of love in the way of modding, in some places.

Was it the 2012 Civic that got so many complaints that Honda did a pre-MMC refresh after 1 year? Maybe, if there's enough criticism on the exterior, it'll get a minor pre-MMC refresh?
Overall, it looks good, but the rear

I know looks are subjective, and I often times have cars grow on me once I see them in person (2015 Civic), but I'm simply not feeling the exterior on this car enough to purchase it. I work at a Honda dealership on the side so I could have gotten a pretty sweet deal on this thing too, but instead I just purchased a Tacoma after seeing this thing.

I'm very excited for the tech in this car though. Any new Honda without the sensing package is a pretty bland car right now, so I defintiely agree with the decision to make it standard. Glad to hear Honda is keeping the manual around as well.

Right but that usually comes with the caveat of "only when equipped with automatic transmission". For example, the WRX now comes with Subaru Eyesight...but only with the CVT since the MT is ineligible.

I see what you mean. And dammit no adaptive cruise control on a manual WRX? FML

it kind of makes sense thou. Car can't shift itself

maybe high speed adaptive cruise control.

Did Honda seriously pull a Acura with that hideous grille??? Other than that the rest looks pretty decent.

Just place your finger over that solid red portion of the tail light, and the rest of the tail light looks so much better.

Taking off the bottom 'tail' gives it a Camry look, taking off all of the red on the trunk lid gives it a WRX look.
Definitely not feeling just removing the top red bit from the trunk lid, looks too disjointed.

i think the tails are fine...it's the front end with the ugly grille and the whale teeth (baleen) head lights that bother me more

I don't mind the rear. It's not bad, but it's also not good. It's just okay. I could live with it.

The front that Miz posted above, the smoked chrome... I really like:

As for the rear, how about filling in part of the white section with plasti dip (?) and then covering up half of the lower portion of the red taillight section?

Maybe something Honda can fix for the 10th gen MMC?

That doesn't look too bad. Though, as someone who mods cars, that isn't really possible to do. The Camry look can easily be pulled off. The above look would require a lot of custom work.

It's not impossible. VW does it with their cars, the screen just tells you shift or take over braking if the car is about to stall. It's definitely not as seamless as with an AT but I'd only use it on the highway anyway and with the turbo motor and lots of low torque, it should do just fine.

I like the headlights, they are a nice signature look for the car and the silly chrome can be covered with a vinyl wrap in an hour. I don't think the sport has a different front end though, I'm pretty sure that's just the lighting.

My least favorite thing is that stupid chrome strip on the bottom side of the car.

regarding adaptive cruise control, I was thinking more along the low speed follow option. Like driving in traffic

Well if it happens then I'd be all kinds of happy about it.

Yeah, I doubt it'll have low speed follow with the MT. There's no way for the car to work the clutch. Anyway, I don't think that'll be a show stopper for someone buying a manual...since the whole reason you do it is to change your own gears and work your own throttle. For long highway trips, it would be awesome.

Ohh, they're separate systems? I had no idea.

would be nice to have a manual automatic car. Manual when you want, and auto when you want.

Didn't catch that black chrome, indeed that looks better! This will probably grow on me even more as I see it in person.

Oh and is it me or has the infamous Honda wheel gap finally gone away?

If you keep it simple, all you would need is 1 piece of red and 1 white vinyl to wrap each of the corresponding sections.

I'm pretty sure people will warm up to the styling. I remember when the previous gen was revealed, people called it boring, and the rear too much like a Hyundai Genesis.

I dunno... I think the vinyl wrap would look cheesy compared to the actual tail light. I mean, one is transparent and reflective... the other, not so much.

also, making fake tail lights with wrap would be a new one for me. Can't say I've ever seen it. I just can't imagine it looking good.

But, the Genny is a car when it comes to aesthetics. So the 9G resembling it wasn't a bad thing, IMO.
