G-Power: Custom M6 (based on BMW M6) news **Gran Coupe Version Revealed (page 1)**

From WCF...

If your 507 hp BMW M6 Convertible is not quite fast enough for your taste then a visit to G-Power might be a good idea. The German tuning house can upgrade your existing 5.0 liter V10 with a Bi-Kompressor system to a breathtaking 635 hp (467 kW).

G-Power works its magic through two ASA T1-12 compressors, one for each cylinder bank and provides the convertible with some amazing stats like a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 11.9 seconds and 0 to 300 km/h in 34,5 seconds. Needless to say that the limited top speed (250 km/h) of the production M6 Convertible has been extended to 320 km/h.

Styling wise G-Power has designed a completely new front apron, which can be made of carbon fiber upon request, with large air inlets for the radiator and front brakes. The front lip spoiler and rear diffuser minimize lift on the axles at high speeds and the side rocker panels maximize ariflow between the wheel houses, filled with G-POWER Silverstone 21-inch light-alloy wheels.

All this German tuning goodness can be yours for Euro 183,000.

I've yet to see a tuner company that can fix that tumor of a trunklid, but the body kit, wheels and other goodies are a nice touch. Kinda redundant having the G-power badge on the base of the fender and the side skirt, AND I usually think 4+ seater convertibles are :theghey: or for wrinkly old folks but ehh... I'd rock that M6.

"0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds"

Doesn't the stock M6 do 0-60 in 4.6?

the m5/m6 only came w/ a 6spd for one year. they were discontinued due to continual warranty replacement issues. not that they were unreliable trannys, owners just get dumping the clutch all over the place

Umm, no. BMW still offers manuals in the M5 and M6, go to www.BMWUSA.com and go to build your own M5/M6 and see for yourself. Don't take everything you read on the net for gospel.

I'll pass for the Lambo that would be the same price and would get better attention.

Like the power enhancements. Don't like the wheels or the stickers.

Post 2015 G-Power BMW M6 Gran Coupe

Press release...

The basis for the electronic output increase is the fact that G-POWER, in contrast to the manufacturer, does not use standard software full of compromises but an individual solution for the engine. Among others, the parameters for the amount of fuel and the ignition timing are modified depending on the increased boost level. In case of the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5, these modifications are made by a micro-processor that is patched in before the standard BMW ECU. Of course all standard protection and diagnostic functions of the original BMW ECU stay untouched. During the engineering process of the latest generation of the successful Bi-TRONIK the G-POWER R&D department has transferred its experience from the area of supercharging to the turbocharged BMW engines. After all, the ASA supercharger used for the G-POWER supercharger systems is closely related to the turbochargers featured by BMW, since both units us a centrifugal compressor to build up boost.

But not just the ECU management has been modified by G-POWER in order to achieve a power output of 740 hp, the exhaust system has been substantially reworked as well to provide for an output optimized back pressure. The modification of the exhaust system cover catalysts replacement pipes (downpipes) and a G-POWER Titanium exhaust system, incl. Titanium link pipes with resonators starting from the down pipe. In addition to the power output increase the G-POWER Titanium exhaust system gives the BMW M6 Gran Coupé a deep, throaty sound that turns heads but is at now time annoying and at the same time saves approx. 12 kg compared to the stock exhaust system. The G-POWER exhaust system is available with four Titanium or Carbon Tailpipes with a diameter of 100 mm each. In result the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 V4 pushes the BMW M6’s standard output of 560 hp / 680 Nm to an awesome 740 hp and 975 Nm of torque. Naturally the performance figures benefit from this output increase, as well. The figure from stand still to 200 km/h is now just 10,5 seconds and the top speed is more than 300 km/h.

Concerning the suspension at first one will notice the 21 inch G-POWER HURRICANE RR forged wheels, wrapped with tyres from the G-POWER’s technology partner MICHELIN in the dimensions 255/30 ZR 21 and 295/25 ZR 21. The double spokes, typical for the G-POWER design, highlight the elegant design of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé. Further improvement of the road handling is realized through the continuously height-adjustable G-POWER coil-over suspension GM6-RS with nine selectable settings each for bound and rebound.

Of course the negative acceleration is in the focus of G-POWER, as well. Even without output increase, the standard braking system may lose brake force when pushed to the limit, accompanied by a moving braking point, the so called fading effect. The perfect cure against the fading effect is a G-POWER Braking System. With its six brake pistons and 420 mm brake disc diameter for the front axle the G-POWER Braking System enables a substantially higher brake force than the standard braking system. In addition the G-POWER ceramic braking system reduces the unsprung mass by 50% percent, compared to a system with steel brake discs. Accordingly the cornering and road handling is improved significantly.

Next to the modifications that increase the power output and performance, G-POWER has reworked the interior of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé completely. Exclusive accessories such as the ergonomically formed sports steering wheel or instruments in G-Power design endow the interior with sophistication much like the noble carbon-leather fitments which can easily compete with the interior of the luxury limousines or Bentley or Rolls Royce in terms of material and production quality. Wherever possible, the plastic surfaces of the standard production M6 cockpit were covered with futuristic high-tech compound materials or soft leather/Alcantara. Visual highlights – in the truest sense of the word – are the illuminated G-POWER logos spread throughout the interior.

The modification of the M6 Gran Coupé’s interior by G-POWER is completed by an exclusive multimedia entertainment system that leaves nothing to be desired. Next to a powerful audio system, electric powered iPads in the rear of the front seats, a lowerable main monitor from the headlining and an Apple iMac incl. Apple TV enable leisure time or productive work according to the desires of the car’s owner.

The cost for the 21 inch G-POWER HURRICANE RR complete wheel set incl. MICHELIN Pilot Sport tyres in the dimension 255/30 ZR 21 and 295/25 ZR 21 is 7.649,00 €, the G-POWER coil-over suspension GM6-RS is 2.570,04 €, the G-POWER Ceramic braking system for the front axle is 14.460,50 Euro. The output increase with the help of the G-POWER BI-TRONIK 5 V4 including a G-POWER Titanium exhaust system is 16.424,60 € including the individual adjustment of to the specific customer car.
