GeigerCars: Custom Corvette (based on Chevrolet Corvette) News **C7 Stingray (p 1)**

Sporty tuning program
The new Corvette Z06 has arrived in the dealers’ showrooms! GeigerCars.de (www.geigercars.de) now offers a sporty tuning program for the top-of-the-line model of the American sportscar.

To achieve a power increase from standard 512 hp / 377 kW to 542 hp / 389 kW there will be soon available the GeigerCars.de STAGE 1 performance kit. The tune-up contains a free-flow intake air guiding with sport air filter, special exhaust manifolds, steel bed catalysts, four large chrome exhaust tips and a special mapping for the ECU. The engine tuning makes the Corvette Z06 even more agile and doesn’t only convince with quicker revving up but also with higher road performances: The sprint time from 0 – 100 km/h is reduced to about 3.7 seconds, maximum speed is increased to about 327 km/h.

Many other special GeigerCars.de customizing components for the fastest production Corvette ever are already available. The designers of Europe’s leading customizer of American cars developed a front spoiler edge to fit on the standard apron. The bodystyling part doesn’t only make the front view more aggressive: The lift on the front axle is further reduced. Its aerodynamic counterpiece is a diffuser to fit on the rear apron.

To be able to always safely control the outstanding road performances of the tuned Z06, GeigerCars.de offers a high performance brake system. GeigerCars.de also offers suspension tuning for the new supersportscar. They designed a custom spring strut sport suspension, which replaces the standard transverse springs to achieve an even more dynamic handling.

To perfectly fill the existing space inside the wider Z06 wheel houses, the GeigerCars.de technicians developed an equally spectacular and exclusive wheel/tire combination. The multi-piece chrome wheels were designed in the dimensions 10.5Jx19 front with 285/30 ZR 19 tires and 13Jx20 rear with 345/25 ZR 20 tires. The GeigerCars.de set of wheels with tires is charged with 9,450 Euros.

Of course GeigerCars.de also offers exclusive interior appointments for the cockpit from Carbon panels up to the masterly handcrafted full leather trim in every imaginable color and design.

GeigerCars.de doesn’t only offer customizing options for the new Corvette Z06 but also fully tuned cars starting from 93,000 Euros.

While the power increase is mediocre, the exterior enhancements are nice. Those fat tires out back and the front airdam give the car a strong stance.

Chrome wheels on a performance car? Ghey. Interior not fixed? Why bother.

Its almost amusing how they are so vague about parts that are supposed to be improving performance over stock(will be soon available.)
They should be already developed.

betting if a k&n filter is put on it would equal or beat a Geiger in power gains.

GeigerCars Corvette Z06 Black Edition

GeigerCars Corvette Z06 Black Edition

When Germany’s GeigerCars decided to modify one of America’s top performance cars, designers looked to an Italian carmaker, specifically Ferrari, for inspiration for their latest kit. The new car is the GeigerCars Corvette Z06 Black Edition, and it features a custom rear end that draws obvious styling cues from Ferrari’s 599 and F430 supercars. The back now sports a new bumper with an integrated diffuser, LED taillights and chrome exhaust tips.

The rest of the car maintains the factory look with only a few subtle pieces added including a custom front lip and forged alloy wheels. Underneath the hood is where most of the modifications take place. Engineers have bumped power up to 542hp (389kW) by adding a sports air-filter, custom exhaust manifolds, steel bed catalysts and remapped the engine’s ECU. The sprint time from 0-100km/h is reduced to about 3.7 seconds, while maximum speed is increased to about 327 km/h.

GeigerCars also offers a high performance brake system and suspension set-up with new springs replacing the standard transverse units. Multi-piece chrome wheels measuring 19in can also be specified. Inside, developers added carbon-fiber panels, and handcrafted leather trim. Pictured below is GeigerCars’s 2006 edition Corvette Z06, which you can compare directly with GM’s own Corvette ZR1 supercar.

Post 2009 Geiger Corvette Z06 biTURBO

From Motor Authority...

The overall capability of the modern Corvette platform is simply amazing. Available in stock trim from tame to insane, the car adapts easily to modification, generating impressive performance. The team at Geiger have proven exactly that with their latest creation, the Corvette Z06 biTURBO.

Starting with modifications to the cylinder block, heads and crank, the displacement of the 7.0L LS7 increases to 7.6L. Then the Geiger gang strap a pair of high-output turbochargers plus extra airflow at both the intake and exhaust ends to help get the most out of the new engine's capability.

The result? 890hp (664kW) at 6,100rpm and 694lb-ft (940Nm) of torque at 4,500rpm. That's enough to push the Corvette through the air at 220mph (354km/h) according to Geiger.

But they didn't stop there. Like nature uses coloring to alert predators that certain prey isn't safe to eat, so Geiger has painted their biTURBO car an eye-splitting shade of green. No one will miss the point once this car blasts past.

The rest of the upgrades are intended to help handle the extra power and performance Geiger has tuned into the car: a stronger transmission and dual-disc transmission plus a carbon fiber driveshaft and stronger rear differential, larger 285/30 and 345/25 tires on big black alloys, and 380x32 (front) and 355x32 (rear) StopTech brakes to slow things down. Special Geiger-tuned adjustable shocks, higher rate springs and anti-roll bars finish off the handling upgrades.

Geiger's own GT body kit was used to give the car a lower, meaner look and to let the turbos breathe easier without destroying the Corvette's brawny lines.

damn that turbo setup is clean!

I hate the rear though.... IMO the rear is the sexiest part of the stock C6. But the black roof and color-matched barrel treatment (but not the lip) on the wheels is I don't think I've seen that before. That shade of green isn't too bad either.

2009 Corvette Z06 biTurbo by Geiger Cars First Drive

Trying To Tame the 890-hp Wild Thing

By Nick Hall, Contributor
Date posted: 06-11-2009

The Corvette cruises through a sleepy village and there's just the odd glance at this electric green beast skulking past with unburned fuel popping from its quartet of tailpipes with a sound like distant artillery. But then the countryside beckons, so we gently squeeze the throttle in 3rd gear. But not gently enough.

At 3,500 rpm, traction at the rear wheels doesn't just break, it dissolves, along with several hundred dollars of rubber from the massive (and massively expensive) Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 rear tires. The 2009 Corvette Z06 biTurbo by Geiger Cars snaps sideways at 90 mph and tries to wriggle off the road as the engine rpm indicated on the head-up display multiplies crazily.

We lift just a little and the car comes back, and then it's hard on the gas. The car snaps down the road as if propelled by some enormous elastic strap until the next gearchange, the next turbo rush and the next flirtation with disaster.

Did we mention we're driving the Corvette in Germany, not Michigan?

An American Car From Munich
This Corvette runs a razor's edge between the fastest car you'll ever drive and the last car you'll ever drive. It makes the almighty 638-horsepower Corvette ZR1 seem as refined as a Porsche, but also mighty slow. That's kind of what you expect, though, from the 890-hp Corvette Z06 biTurbo by Geiger Cars. Even Karl Geiger calls it "Wild Thing."

You're always reading about guys mashing the throttle to the floor and feeling the kick from the engine. Try that here, and the kick you'll feel will be oncoming traffic plowing into the hood. With 890-hp in a 3,086-pound package, the power-to-weight ratio is something like that of a Bugatti Veyron, only without that boring everyday practicality. With this Corvette, the long lost art of throttle control becomes a daily life-saving necessity.

Even with a feather-light touch on the gas pedal, the rear end of the car jumps out of line as the massive Garrett turbos kick in through 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 4th gear. As the truly fearsome acceleration takes hold, the tires smoke with each grab of the meaty shift lever. Geiger Cars doesn't even publish acceleration times for Z06 biTurbo, as the car just can't maintain any traction at low speed. Even so, Wild Thing will nail 200 km/h (124 mph) in well under 12 seconds, even with the slideways moments. Meanwhile this Corvette's top speed of 220 mph puts it in the most exclusive company in the world.

As for the noise, well, this Z06 sounds like Armageddon has arrived, as the turbocharged V8's stutter at low rpm hardens into a kind of full-strength industrial roar, while the intermittent chuff and whine of the turbos seem to take residence in your inner ear. Everything is violent, everything is immediate, everything is over the top. You'd have to be a special kind of mental to use this car as a daily driver.

Hot-Rod Engineering From Germany
Geiger Cars — a tuning firm in Munich, Germany — has specialized in American cars and trucks since 1978. Nobody accused the Corvette Z06's 7.0-liter V8 of lacking guts, yet Geiger has bored out the engine to 7.6 liters and fitted new forged pistons, titanium valve springs, sport camshafts and a high-flow air intake with 100mm mass airflow meter. A new fuel-injection system is a necessity to feed this thirsty engine and there's a massive four-pipe exhaust system to get rid the spent gases. A racing-caliber dual-disc clutch joins forces with a carbon-reinforced driveshaft, while diff and driveshafts have all been reinforced.

Which is just as well, when you consider the pile-driving force that is heading through those O-Z Racing Ultraleggera wheels clothed in simply ridiculous 285/30R19 front and 345/25R20 rear Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. Geiger has also done its best to contain the pure speed of this outrageous machine with the suspension, fitting a KW kit with racing-caliber dampers (16-way compression damping), H&R springs that drop the ride height a full 1.2 inches, and front and rear antiroll bars thicker than a bodybuilder's forearms.

The new bodywork is designed to not only improve downforce but also cool the overheated engine bay and the overworked brakes. The only original parts are the doors and rear-quarter panels; the rest is the Geiger GT fiberglass kit (available in the U.S.). Those pronounced hood vents give this Corvette the look of a Dodge Viper, and yet they're still barely enough to compensate for the incredible heat from the engine, which even burned through the spark plug wires in the prototype version of this car.

On the Road
Wild Thing needs all the help it can get to keep it on the ground. Even as we slowly drove through the Munich suburbs near Geiger's facility on Truderingerstrasse, the rear of the car was stepping out at every intersection. Finally we made it into the countryside, where we could let the car run a bit.

Beneath 3,500 rpm, the V8 engine is a pussycat, but as soon as those turbos kick in, this car goes to a whole other level. If you really want to exercise Wild Thing, you'll need not a racetrack but an airfield. The peak power of 890 hp comes at 6,100 rpm, but there's a simply stupid 693 pound-feet of torque that's available at 4,500 rpm.

If a car can go sideways in a straight line it deserves ultimate respect in the bends. And so anything else but a super slow-in and fast-out approach to the corners with Wild Thing could be punished by instant death. In our short test run there was no way to feel for the limit, and full opposite lock is no longer an option, as the wide tires sit so close to the fenders.

As a result, we were riding the StopTech brakes like white on rice on the approach to any bend. Fortunately there's plenty of braking power, with six-piston calipers working on 15-inch rotors in the front while four-piston calipers grab 14-inch rotors in the back. With so much braking power and so much contact patch from the tires to match, they're more than capable of bringing us back to reality from epic speeds. Even these brakes will wilt under sustained abuse, though, so Geiger will install the carbon-ceramic brakes of a Corvette ZR1 for those with an extra $35,000 to spend.

Get Stupid With Speed
So this, then, is not an everyday sports car anymore, but that was never the point of the exercise. The idea was to create a bright green rocket that would provide all the fun and games anyone can handle on a Sunday afternoon. And with the 2009 Corvette Z06 biTurbo by Geiger Cars priced at about $210,000, Karl Geiger has taken the traditional American principles of bang for your buck to the level of nuclear fission. Sure, it's not much different than a stock Z06 on the inside of the cabin, but when you're going this fast, who the hell cares?

Nothing this side of the Bugatti Veyron feels faster than Wild Thing, and nothing on this Earth feels quite so explosive. Geiger built the Corvette Z06 biTurbo as an engineering exercise, just to show what's possible. But there are people in this world crazy enough to buy the Wild Thing, or perhaps the Camaro with the supercharged ZR1 engine that Geiger is about to start working on.

2010 GeigerCars Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Geiger GTS

Press release...

The announcement was clear: “It is very important for Corvette, to offer the strongest, most high performance and best sports car in terms of handling in the USA.” With these words the former chairman of General Motors Rick Wagoner set his engineers a clear goal around two years ago, which also included trumping the Dodge Viper SRT10, which was shown at the Detroit Car Show shortly before, in all regards.

The technicians got to work and so the next year the persons responsible were able to proudly unveil the quickest and highest performance series vehicle ever produced by General Motors: the Corvette ZR1.

Under the sheer endlessly long bonnet of the ZR1 lurks a newly developed LS96.2 litre small block V8 with compressor supercharging. Pressurised by the Eaton R2300 compressor with up to 0.72 bar, this primitive engine gets up to 647 HP and a maximum torque of 823Nm.

Further technical highlights of the extreme Corvette are its high performance breaking system with their 394 and 381 mm diameter carbon ceramic discs, as well as the electronically controlled suspension “Magnetic Selective Ride Control” with track level suspension mounting. Bonnet, roof, sill, rear wing and front spoiler are made of super light, but at the same time high strength carbon.

GeigerCars.de from Munich, which has specialised in the import and refinement of US cars for years, has not only brought this extreme sportsman from the United States to Germany, it has also optionally subjected it to diverse tuning measures at the same time – the first example of the Corvette ZR1 “Geiger GTS” will be presented to the world public at the 63rd International Automobile Exhibition at Frankfurt am Main from 17th to 27th September.

The datasheet for the Corvette ZR1 “Geiger GTS” shows 710 HP maximum performance with 6,600 rotations per minute and the car produces gigantic 918 Nm on the crankshaft at only 4,200 revs. Set up in this way the ZR1 storms up to 100km/h in just 3.6 seconds, and at the same time nails the back of the occupants’ head to the head rest of the Geiger carbon sport seats. The propulsion only ends at a speed of 342 kilometres per hour.

At these values the hardest work is done by the 10 x 19 and 12 x 20 inch high performance tyres mounted on light metal rims with the dimensions 285/30ZR19 at the front and 345/25ZR20 at the rear tyres.

Of course GeigerCars extensively modified the look of the Corvette, lending it a styling, which is reminiscent of the large Gran Turismos of the 60’s and 70’s. The front and back were extensively modified; a wide air vent dominates the nose, while a massive diffuser attracts attention at the back. Both the fog and rear lights are based on modern LED semi conductive technology. The three layer mother of pearl varnish of the Corvette ZRI “Geiger GTS” with changing colour play is also a real eye catcher.

Post 2014 GeigerCars Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray

Press release...

The newest Corvette generation C7 Stingray is presented in a more exciting and grown up way than ever before. The facts in brief: V8 suction engine, 460 PS, 630 Nm torque, launch control, magnetic selective ride control suspension etc.

However, only GeigerCars.de from Munich provides the right adrenalin rush with a tailor-made package of technology and visuals:

• exclusive GeigerCars body kit made of carbon
• adjustable KW variant 3 coilover suspension
• compressor conversion to 590 HP & 757 Nm torque

GeigerCars.de gives the classic V8 drive unit an Eaton compressor, which generates an increased performance around 130 HP. At the same time, the maximum torque increases by a full 145 Nm. To summarise, the GeigerCars.de C7 now has 590 HP and a torque of 757 Nm, which is sufficient for a maximum speed of almost as 320 km/h. In order that this forceful performance can be converted into propulsion without losses, the Munich US car specialists built a KW variant 3 coilover suspension, which can be individually adjusted. The lowering area of the suspension is located on the front axle between 10 and 35 mm, and between 15 and 45 mm on the rear axle. In the wheel arches of the beautiful C7 turn in-house forged wheels, which are significantly lighter than their standard counterparts. At the front in the format 9.5x19 inch with 255/30R19 and at the rear in 11x20 inch with 305/25R20, this wheel/tyre combination provides breathtaking grip conditions.

Absolute highlight of the GeigerCars.de conversion is the specially developed body kit made of ultra-light carbon fibre, which also significantly contributes to the improvement of the aerodynamics. For the front part, there is a front splitter with additional flaps to the left and right, and a front grille incl. grate. A set of new sills guides the air past the sides of the C7. GeigerCars.de gives the tail a rear bumper with diffuser and a rear spoiler. The visual improvements are rounded off by an exclusive special paint in "motorsport gold".

The new Corvette C7 Stingray is offered as standard in Germany with the Z51 performance package. This includes optimised aerodynamics, improved suspension tuning and improved cooling in the case of top speeds for extended periods. The basic price of almost €74,500 includes standard features, which some competitors can only dream of. There is the excellent "magnetic selective ride control" suspension with various driving modes, extensive leather fittings, a launch control and a large navigation system.

The new Chevrolet Corvette C7 is now available as a coupé or cabrio with or without the GeigerCars.de conversion.
