look at time elapsed, outside temperature, A meter, fuel guage. 100mph engine is spinning at 3500rpm under airconditioning. Its the magic of light weight accessory Rims, aero bumper with lighter performance tires.

Definitely not a function of transmission gearing at all, definitely not. All about the rims, aero, and tires. Oh and the beak, the beak adds 100x more aeros to the spec sheet.

Also, my S2000 is spinning at 3800 rpm at 70mph without AC. Must be because it's not lightweight, terrible aero, and heavy tires.

You're a tool.

Honda rims are NOT lightweight. They're as heavy as all other OEM, non-forged wheels

Light performance tires? No Honda has that either

Of course you can add both to a honda. but you can do that with any car. So again, you're the biggest dummy this planet has ever seen. dumb. dumb. stupid. dumb. tool.

Honda's bumpers are no more "aero" than anyone elses dummy. idiot. stupid. tool.

Because TSX is unrefined Honda garbage. 2G TSX so bad, Honda killed it for TLX. TLX is much better car than 2G TSX. 2G TSX fuel economic fake lie from Honda. Also, 2G TSX lie about fuel economic on gauges. They over optimistic by at least 60%.

Also, 2G TSX has heavy wheels and no upgraded tires. Too much road noise. High ground clearance hurts aero dynamic, making poor fuel economic.

How often do you drive above 75mph?

I live in the suburbs of a very large city and I pretty much never go above 70mph.

Therefore, my low RPM high torque turbo hatchback is the perfect fit for me. Did I mention I get 27mpg average?

I wonder what early dealer mark ups are going to be on these puppies?

Good thing Ford plans to import more than 250 from Europe and not offer them just only to previous GT owners first.

I'm trying to sell the wife on her taking my Jeep, selling her Accord, and buying a FoRS...it seems to be working but I won't get one until next year at the earliest.

I'm not sure how DD friendly this car will be, Sam. You might regret it. Reading through the comments in the link posted, it seems one guy complains about his Golf R, after bending 2 rims and blowing out 4 sidewalls, due to potholes and the stiff suspension. There's a good chance the FoRS will be just as stiff.

Is it a crazy cool car? Absolutely. Is it practical for daily driving? I guess we will find out soon enough!

We'll see. People bend rims all the time on a lot of cars, I wouldn't attribute it to the car itself. In terms of the stiff ride, we'll see. There have been a few reviews so far that have dubbed it the "ultimate daily driver" so I'm guessing it'll be less harsh than the STi that tons of people DD.

In any case, I'm waiting a year mostly so I don't have to pay a stupid markup on the car and wait for them to iron out the wrinkles in the AWD system and stuff.

Also waiting a year because my wife won't approve the PO after buying two cars (one new) last year.

Can someone please, please ban SSFTSX. He provides nothing of value and refuses to stay in Honda/Acura threads. He's in every thread derailing the conversation with non sequiturs. It's ridiculous and has gone on far too long.

I read that comment too. He also mentioned he's in the Chicago and Milwaukee area as well.

I'm in Chicago and I've never had the problems he's described. Also, I'm on coils and the ride is pretty stiff, especially compared to stock. I just wonder what kind of driver he is. The stiff suspension does not bother me one bit; I really like how it changes the driving mechanics of the car and how the ride feels.

With that said, I have no reluctance in driving a Focus RS as a DD. The roads are absolutely horrible here but I know how to drive and avoid pot holes.

The interesting thing will be whether a dealer will have a Focus RS available to test drive in a year or two. I've never bought a car before test driving it. This may be the biggest challenge. (Hell, trying to test drive an STi was nearly impossible from Subaru. Hence maybe why I'm not driving one today...)

^ They wouldn't let me even test drive the WRX. Every one on the lot was sold, so were the next 4 on the truck coming in.

That and no hatch = pass.

I have no problem in waiting a year or so to pick one up, won't have to pay dealer markup then.

Wtf? No test driving a WRX or STi? I can understand when they first came out in like 03/04, or whenever it was, but now? They're a dime a dozen car. Also should help if you're not walking in with your pants sagging, wearing a flat brim DC hat and oakelys, which I don't imagine you guys do.

Odd. When wifey and I were considering one back in 2011, the subaru dealership was practically throwing the keys at us to take it for a drive. I too cannot fathom buying a car without driving it. Even a 20 minute test drive isn't enough, in my mind.

I'm a damn good driver too but sometimes pot holes and road debris are unavoidable. In the past 10 years, have easily suffered at least a half dozen slow leak flat tires and a cracked rim. Nothing that left me stranded, but still a time waster.

If I get an RS for my daily commute, first thing I would do is downsize to lighter 18" wheels and unplug the active sound resonator.

One dealer flat out said no. The salesman even had the gusto to keep saying "are you ready to order?" and kept pushing it. What a turnoff. Didn't matter what I looked like or what I was driving, the demand was (at the time) so high that a missed out order was nothing to them.

Another dealer could only offer to let me drive one of the worker's personal vehicle - a WRX.

This was in 2012-2013 when I was looking at getting a 2013 STi in hatchback. Subaru treats that car like a diamond that no one can touch unless you buy it first. Well, at least around here they do. I wonder how they are doing now...

I've been lucky so far. I've only lost one tire in the past to road debris, and last autumn on one of my brand new PSS tires I picked up some kind of bolt that sealed itself in, so no leak. Discount Tire fixed and patched that for free. Never had a problem with bent wheels.

Who knows, I showed up driving a mint condition S2000 and wearing nice clothing. I don't think I looked like I was going to go out and hoon the car into a tree. All I wanted was to see if Subaru had stopped contracting fisher price to design interiors and calibrate suspensions. If so, it would have gone very high on my list of cars. The sales guy I spoke to was also all over me to order my own if I wanted to drive one. Fvck that.

Sad part is this is the second time they said no. The first was in the winter and apparently the cars all come with summer tires and dealerships have zero demo cars with winters for test drives.

I've lived in MN my entire life and have never bent a rim or caused a slow leak flat due to pot holes.

any other subie dealers in your city? Or other close by cities?

At that point, I'd have just escalated to the sales manager, and eventually the general manager of the dealership. The dealership likely has that policy in place, just so people don't go hooning. If you're interested enough to bother the managers, I'm sure they'd sing a different tune. Unless they hate getting money.

I figured half of the people that go in and buy one usually wrap it around a tree or fry the clutch. Hell, my brother fried his clutch and turbo at the same time.

Test drives of the STI and Golf R are hard to come by.. the dealers want to limit mileage on those cars because their buyers won't pay MSRP for something with 50 miles on it. Same goes for GT350 and M2.

Your best bet is finding a lightly used one at a dealer and trying it.

Interesting video, from an owner's perspective.

I really like what the RS has to offer, but taking a quick look of dealer inventory around here, pretty much all of them have a dealer markup, especially ones with the RS2 package which I would want. There are some base models for sale around $40k though. But I think if I were in the market I would do a factory order, and if there are several models sitting on dealer showrooms there has to be availability to place an order. I've heard of a two year wait list but I don't see why. Sticker of one I built online is right around $41k. Anyway, that Nitrous Blue does look awesome, but being the most popular color is a bit concerning and I think I'd still learn toward Stealth Gray. The AWD would be amazing, especially for winter time up here, and I think I would leave it pretty much stock for a while other than an exhaust and maybe downpipe. I'm curious how a stock RS would perform against my tuned ST.

The blue is going to be by far the most common color. I really want a white one...we'll see maybe next year.

I'm not really a fan of that blue. I'd get tired of it after a month.
