Make it a Lincoln, call it the Peregrine, rwd, and the engine from the GT500 and we have a winner

How hard would it be to switch to left-hand drive and certify these Aussie models for sale in the USA?

I'd take that over a Chrysler 300.

Keep that El Camino-thing down under but brind the rest here. It is DEFINITELY the best looking Ford sedan to date. (Although I think the Lincoln LS and Mercury Milan are very nice sedans ISO better powertrains.)

Thing is... would importing such a car be worth it to Ford? Retooling their plants, etc ... it's a long way from Australia to the continental US. Exchange rate is not favorable, either (AUD$ is quite strong). And I think Ford doesn't want to do it due to GM's experience with the GTO. It's a shame ...

Secondly ... the "utes" they have Down Under (aka El-Camino) ... they are super-popular down there. I was there in 2002 and they were all over the place. I guess they're practical? They're not big into SUVs / crossovers but perhaps their market has changed since 2002 ...

PS Doesn't the Falcon front remind you a bit of the Volvo S40 / S60 ??? Maybe it's me ...

If it was the base 300, I agree.

Otherwise ...

Exterior is good, but not great (Fusion is much better IMHO)
The interior is excellent. NA Fords should have interiors like this.

The Falcon has options to compete with the Hemi also.

What did you expect - this is the typical family hauler (and the default sedan used by taxi fleets) down under.

The XR optioned sedan looks real good.

Nothing to do with engines.

That Falcon is horribly dated. The Exterior is dated, the seat design and materials are just awful, and the only redeeming part is the center console.

I think the 300 with the hubcabs is dreadful. That care NEEDS at least 18s to look right.

Of course the exterior is dated.

It hasn't changed one bit since 1998.

You need to know your cars better..

The Falcon has been around since 1960.

Let me guess, you've never seen the movie Mad Max?

Which is fine by me, new cars are ugly for the most part with their high rear ends and high door sills.

they aren't back from the dead. the falcon has been around for a while and has been a prime seller for Ford in other countries.

being a car enthusiast doesn't mean you stop looking at cars that aren't in the US. I mean you know of Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, so why should it stop there.
