PS that ford falcon is pretty nice.

I just wonder if there is anyone at ford NA really asking the question about how and why we dont have stuff that looks this good in the states yet (at all costs, really.) It would pull this company right out of the gutter I think.

That's too bad, because we really care what you think.

You know what, you are entitled to your own opinion. I was an asshat when I was 16 too, so I can relate.

Yes, it does look better but it would still be outclassed by the rest of the field.
:barf: at Ricky Lake and Joan Rivers.

But comparing Ricky Lake to the new Ford Falcon is a bit harsh...

IMO I think the AU Ford Falcon would compete well in the sports sedan segment. Currently Ford offers nothing in the Sports Sedan segment. Also, I think the Ford Falcon could do tons better than their Taurus/500 or whatever mid size family sedan is in their current production line up.

And if anything I was thinking that it may not be such a "huge leap" for Ford to consider bringing their AU models here since the styling of AU Ford vehicles appear a little more conservative than Euro Ford vehicles and also another US company has brought over an AU model; I know of one vehicle (the GTO). Although for some reason... the GTO looked much more tame than the Vauxhall when it reached our shores; thanks to US branch of Pontiac deciding to meddle with the design. But still, the GTO was an awesome muscle car, and IMO one of the best "bang for your buck" V8 vehicles in the last decade.

Maybe I'm being hopeful in owning a Falcon, since I've thought the Falcon was cool since Madmax.

The ultra conservative views (and styling) of the US Ford branch will probably never bring the Euro Fords over. I mean just look at their vehicles now:

Other than the Mustang and possibly the Fusion, the vehicle designs of their line up look nastier than two fat chicks lip locked in a tongue wrestling match: you take a second look only to ask "WTF is goin on!?"

Not to mention, a nice sports sedan in their line up would help fill the gap in their Non SUV line up.

From Autoblog...

FPV's seemingly endless rollout of its new FG Falcon-based lineup has finally culminated in the actual launch of the cars (how novel), which we've already touched upon. To that end, we'll keep this brief and turn you loose on the multiple new photo galleries now available (check out the rest after the jump). The FPV range encompasses both Falcon sedan and Ute bodystyles, and power comes from either the turbocharged F6 inline-six or the 5.4L Boss 315 V8. The six delivers 415 horsepower and a tire-humbling 416 lb-ft of torque. The eight's no slouch either, pumping out 422 horses (315 kW, hence the engine's name) and 406 lb-ft. A Tremec TR6060 6-speed stick is available across the full range of cars.

I'm not a fan of the exterior, but the interior looks good. I definitely respect the engine choices; this is a serious car.

...last sentence in the article...Tremec 6 MT

If the G8 ute makes it to the US and sells, I wonder if Ford would bring the ute version over.

Agreed, I'd take a G8 over this anyday, well the GT version in manual that is.

Don't be so generous. Give him the Ford Edge, after all, it can keep up with a Mustang.
