Consumer Guide "Sneak Peek"
OK, it's not much... but a new article nonetheless, posted on 9/15. Check out the item in bold, which may or may not be the newest info:

2004 Acura TL
Acura's best-selling car is redesigned for 2004 with new styling, more power, and more standard safety features. The TL is based on the platform of the Accord sedan from parent-company Honda, but is larger, more luxurious, and more expensive. The '04 TL has virtually the same wheelbase as its 1999-2003 predecessor, but is 6.3 inches shorter in overall length. Interior dimensions change little. The sole engine is again a 3.2-liter V6, but it has 270 hp vs. 225 or 260 on previous TLs. The sport-oriented Type S model is dropped, succeeded by a 6-speed manual transmission version with a firmer suspension, Brembo-brand front brakes, and a limited-slip differential. Other TLs have a 5-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift gate. ABS and 17-inch wheels are standard; manual-transmission versions are available with high-performance tires vs. the standard all-season treads. The antiskid system previously reserved for the Type S is now included on all TLs. Front side airbags are standard and are joined for '04 by head-protecting curtain side airbags. Leather upholstery with heated front seats, aluminum interior trim, and a sunroof are standard. So is satellite radio and new CD/cassette audio system with an in-dash changer that plays CDs and DVD audio discs (but not DVD videos or MP3 discs). Other new features include Acura's HandsFreeLink, which can employ the audio system as a hands-free, wireless link to any cell phone in the vehicle. A navigation system with voice command is optional. Onstar assistance is no longer available. Also gone is the Acura CL, which was essentially a coupe version of the TL. Prices were unavailable in time for this report, but Acura says the '04 TL will range between $30,000-$34,000, depending on model.

I'm personally fine with the DVD 5.1 Audio System. I don't see what the big deal is. Some people just like to b*tch I guess. :o
The way I look at it is I might not buy many DVD-A discs, but if the overall sound quality of the system matches that of Lexus' Nakamichi or Mark Levinson systems I'll be happy.

the new features with DVD-A is that it delivers DVD quality sound....but the main reason is that it is CURRENTLY copy-proof.....more and more CDs are in DVD-A format, the music industries hope that better sound quality will draw ppl to get copy-proof format (how long it will stay copy-proof is a question :p )

I don't have an issue with DVD Audio. I'd just like to see wider availability of albums in this format. I guess it really can't be called a waste because CDs and CD-Rs can still be played.
I agree with jwaters that if the sound system alone, minus DVD-A, is superior to Mark Levinson or Nakamichi, I'll be happy as well.

Why would anyone want DVD-A in their car? What advantage is 5+1 sound when what you really want is hours upon hours of selection when driving (read: MP3!!!!)?
Do you think commercial DVD-A discs will use up all 4.7GB for audio? Not likely.

What I find odd is that the new TL is such a techno car, I just can't understand why they didn't include an mp3 player, yet there's a tape deck? They could've just raided the Honda parts bin for the mp3 player in the Honda Element.

No its that time of the day and at this point nothing works for it.
I pulled up all the new topics and what to I see a bunch of TL shit. I am interested in TL info, I was excited to see the TL spy pics. But if I want to talk about it or read about it I will go to acura-tl.com (I am also a member there too).

So you come to A-TSX.com, hit the forums, hit the "News & Rumors" section, then go the the "2004 TL News" forum to post how sick you are of seeing TL info, under a completely random topic.
Even if you wanted to only view new topics and happen to find that most of it is about the TL, that means that there probably aren't very many new TSX topics. TL topics have had, and will have, some slow days as well.
1. You did not have to go through all the trouble to come to this forum. There are forums dedicated solely to the TSX on this site. It's not like we're flooding TSX related boards with our posts.
2. You sound like you're a welcome member at :ghey:-TL Most of :ghey:-TL's info comes from this site. I'm sure you are aware of that.
3. There is a suggestion forum on this board where you can speak with the moderators to discuss your ill feelings. I'm sure they'd be happy to give you a hug and provide other comfort for your sickness.
