You are a newb...

They were taking a picture of the wheels and fender design elements, not the orange peel.

I really hope that GM doesn't bloat the Camaro. I have a feeling its gonna weigh 3800+ lbs. If it was under 3600 it would be fine with me, but if not I would rather buy a used GTO for way less than probably even a used Camaro.

It might have been better if they went a little more retro like the challenger...

Looked better in the concept stage IMHO:

It does look "big"... Challenger SRT8 is like 4200, so it wouldn't suprise me if the Camaro is up there too... They'll just compensate for the weight w/ a bigger engine

I liked it a lot more as a concept too. It looks friggin huge. LS3 or not its gonna be real porky. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to decide whether to keep and mod my car or sell it and get the new Camaro but now I'm getting less and less worried.

It could also be market saturation..... we see new spy vids and pics of the Camaro every week and it was in Transformers a relatively long time ago. Now, its sorta

If GM developed the Camaro much earlier and released it earlier it would be a great success, I'm sure. The concept images have been around since 2005 or 2006, back when I was in high school. If they put the Camaro on the dealership lots a month after Transformers came out it would've been to great effect.

Plus, no t-tops?! I'll keep my F-Body, thank you

GM Performance parts likely for 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Images of the road-going 2010 Chevrolet Camaro convertible were leaked online earlier today, and now Leftlane has acquired two images of a model Camaro decked out in GM Performance Parts that will be available when the latest entrant into the pony car segment launches next year.

When the Camaro launches next spring, look for GM Performance to offer:

Custom seven-spoke wheels
Ground effects kit
Duck-tail and high-rise rear spoilers
Front grille insert
Rear-fascia blackout
RS and SS decal packages (RS package shown)

That list is likely to expand as the Camaro nears productions, with probable upgrades including a cold air intake, performance exhaust and many others.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro convertible shots [Leaked]

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro isn't slated to begin rolling off the assembly line floor until next February but, thanks to some leaked image, we can see what the road-going version will likely look like. These images are of the production (or at least pre-production) base model convertible, which is actually still over a year away from production.

The images give away some details not seen on prototypes captured in spy photos. Up front, the production Camaro does away with the center hood scoop seen on the Camaro prototypes. The prototype's odd looking headlights have also been replaced with more conventional units.

Out back, it looks like even the base car will get dual exhaust — something V6 Mustangs and Challengers do without.

Two sets of wheels can be seen in these shots — one pair on each side of the car — and presumably show off the base and an upgraded wheel package.

They need to cancel this program. They've managed to completely fuck it up. That convertible looks like a rental car.

Eat the money, consider it research into RWD, and move on.

I'm half way there, but, thanks to my prescription glasses, not for a long long time.

I don't like the Challenger. Compare to the Camaro, the look of the Challenger is wimpy. I much prefer the original design.

I don't get what you're getting all riled up about. That convertible looks like the coupe version without a roof. Isn't that what all convertibles are?

A camaro should be a rough/mean looking car from front to rear-lioke chevy's actual concept photos, not some sporty smooth lined car. This is muscle, not sport.

Have you sat in a Mustang convertible lately? That thing is a POS.

For the money that they charge you should not have an interior that looks like it can be hosed out.

The Camaro looks like another rental fleet disaster like the Chrysler Sebring or Mustang.

While spy shots of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro are about a dime-a-dozen these days, the latest spy shots of General Motors' upcoming pony car reveal an import step in the car's development process — testing has been moved from the streets to Germany's famed Nürburgring.

Spy photographers spotted the latest prototype arriving at GM's Nürburgring testing facility.

Moreover, the prototype spotted appears to be a performance model — possibly the Z28 but more likely the range-topping SS model. The first dead giveaway that this isn't your typical V6er is that the car is sporting brightly-colored Brembo brakes at all four corners, a treatment normally reserved for performance models.

Another tip-off that this isn't a base model car is the existence of an air intake just before the hood. Images of a base-model production convertible Camaro were leaked earlier this year, and that car was void of any kind of air inlets. Also, the previous-generation SS used a ram-air hood and, as any enthusiast can attest to, a functioning hood scoop is good for a few extra ponies.

It would also make sense that the top performance Camaro would be getting some track time at the Nürburgring as lesser models won't be as highly scrutinized for their performance.

GM is keeping tight lipped about what V8 will be making its way under the hood of the Camaro SS, but sources have indicated the car will get a version of the supercharged LSA motor used in the Cadillac CTS-V and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

Nurburgring testing eh..... interesting.

Brembos and a possible LSA... that just re-sparked my interest in the car. I still like the concept headlights way more though
