I would really, really have a difficult time choosing between a fully restored '69 Hugger Orange RS/SS w/ a 396 and this new Camaro with an LS3 in it. I hope once I graduate college I'll have a good enough paying job to afford one of these.

It looks like the Camaro is smaller than a Mustang. I was afraid it was going to be enormous.

Living the Dream
Speaking of Transformers, anyone else put your name in the hat to win a Bumblebee replica?
About the same time this comes out:
Dodge Challenger will be out
Ford is working on "next" version of the 'Stang
2009-2010 will be good "new classic" years....at least for American muscle

GM is stupid for not releasing the 5th gen F-Body in 2003. Instead, they stopped all production, and OBVIOUSLY since there is now less competition for the Mustang, Mustang sales have been up and haven't stopped going up.
I'm sure the main reason why the 5th gen Camaro's styling is influenced by the 1st gen is because of the success of the 5th gen Mustang with the retro styling. Worked for Ford, must work for them, right?
GM is always following Ford's lead in the Pony Car wars.... when will they learn? They did the right thing with the 4th gen, releasing it before the 4th gen Mustang was released.
I won't be surprised if their sales don't meet their own expectations. More competition = less sales. At this point they're stealing sales from Ford/Dodge rather than getting their own sales.

I know you own one and if you like it then sincerely I'm happy for you. Once I got over the "holy shit it's fast" feeling there wasn't really much else left for me.

saw the pics and they're taken with a grain of salt...i like the layout, the hoods on the main gauges are a little much, but since it's a prototype you can't pass judgment on anything, till the production model comes out

I knew they would fawk up the production car.
While its not a full production car, i doubt much will change from this. Guess we will see. (interior speaking of course)

I don't mind the gauges but that center console is a mess IMO. As is the steering wheel.
They should have a look at the GTO.

That interior?!?!?!?!?!
I thought GM was turning things around as far as interiors went.....not with the Camaro.
Interior = FAIL!

A lot of the center stack still looks taped up and not final...but otherwise it pretty much look slike the concept which you said you loved.

Didn't like the concept interior or this one. That whole retro interior look is terrible. Gauge pods look awful, two-tiered dash looks weird, and the shifter looks like a phallic member. It may not be shiny black plastic in the end, but it still looks worse than my car's dated interior.
No offense taken. I've gotten used to people criticizing my car, you can't please everyone. I was the biggest critic until I got out and drove it. I'm sure you know there are people out there who don't like the MS3 for whatever reason... I'm not one of them though. Me, being 19, would be more appropriate buying this car now rather than when I hit 40. I have the t-tops and it doesn't squeak, rattle or make any funny noises, though there is a leak in the pinion seal, which most rear-drive GMs have. That's about it, and its a 7 year old car.
Point is they don't market the Camaro towards people who put luxury and refinement first and foremost. I'm one of those people.

Biggest mistake GM made was inflicting T-Tops on people. That car was simply too flimsy to have the roof cut out of it like that.

The interior you see in those pics is not final. According to Fbodfather, the interior is only 30% complete, meaning that what you see in those pics is a mash up of items and not the final look or materials that will be used. I don't think GM would be that dumb to have that bad of an interior on a production model.

Spy Shots: Chevy Camaro prototypes spotted in Detroit

click above for a total of six new Chevy Camaro spy shots
Spy photographers from KGP Photography have finally caught the Camaro in the automotive industry's epicenter. In the past, the General has only tested Camaro mules wearing heavily modified Holden Commodore bodies in the U.S. These pics, however, show a pair of Camaro prototypes, one festooned with camouflage and one completely bare (the way Bob Lutz likes it) in Detroit City. We're of course interested in the prototype that's sans camo. Aside from a few details like the grille and headlights, you're looking at the Camaro that will go into production next February. The other vehicle, meanwhile, was reportedly fresh off the boat from Australia, which is why it's still wearing camo and features Aussie-spec red and amber taillights. Take a look at the many spy shots in our gallery below and wait patiently like the rest of us for the Camaro to finally reenter production.

They will all be red. That test Mule is fresh from Australia (where Holden was conducting some of the testing). The Yellow lights are just for Australian Street-legal laws (O or thats what they say on camaro5.com anyways) You can see that the other mule has the all red ones.

For the love of all that is holy please change back to the original headlights and this time maybe make an RS package available where it covers part of the headlights instead of being a V6 with a body kit
It looks kinda like ass now, honestly I'd rather get a C6 or a G8 if it weighs as much as I think it will.... what the hell is up with those headlights and the chrome around the tail lights?
lol @ the orange peel
