Additionally, significant improvements have been made to the flexible speech recognition system to allow it to better understand many regional dialects. This means that a subscriber in southern Louisiana will be just as easily understood as a subscriber in Long Island or Minnesota. OnStar engineers in North America and China performed extensive validation testing across four languages (English, French, Spanish and Mandarin), more than 30 different dialects and vehicle models in a wide range of driving and noise conditions.
For some reason I pictured some New Yorker testing this out and

My point isn't about the intended audience but economies of scale. Since most cars these days have moved onto 5 speed + auto's, wouldn't it be cheaper for them to source a 5 or 6 speed slushbox instead? I say this without knowing the engineering costs of doing this, but its not exactly revolutionary at this point to have a 5 or 6 speed.

The XTS is replacing this dinosaur and the STS for 2012.

This'll be the CTS's older sibling...

What car brand will be the go-to for old people now? Buick and Caddy have gone through a midlife crisis and don't suck anymore.

Yeah. If they don't dumb down the design of the XTS (both exterior and interior) it will be a winner.
