Post BMW's CLS-fighter?

Four-door coupes are the flavor of the moment?

I still cannot understand the 4 door coupe labeling. If it has 4 doors, it's a SEDAN!

DAMNIT! You stole my thunder. I agree 100%. The very idea of a four door coupe is an oxymoron. The CLS is a SEDDAN! One of the sexiest ones on the road, sure, but it's still a sedan.

Technically, a coupe is defined by rear interior volume, not by the number of doors...there is a SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standard for it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coupe

But in common conversation most people consider a coupe a 2 door...

I've always said a RSX isn't a coupe (it's a hatchback), but technically it might be considered a coupe

Later on, we can talk about 4 door hard tops... sedans w/o B-pillars

I love that we have 300M people in this country with disposable income out the wazoo and yet BMW can't justify selling competing models in the US that are sold in the UK/EU?

I hate to break it to the focus group donkeys but not everyone here wants a SUV.

Sematics....A door door vehicle has always been a Coupe. Even the big daddy Caddy's in the 60-70's were Coupes, hence the name Coupe De Ville.

The CLS is a sedan.

I thought the 4 door Caddy was a Sedan De Ville. The 2 door was the Coupe De Ville.

You are correct.

I was owned by the 5 minute edit setting. It should have read " Sematics....A two door vehicle has always been a Coupe." I'll work on my stuttering problem
