Although there is a separate thread for the BMW 2-Series I decided that "M", "AMG", etc. cars, deserve separate threads.

I thought that the 1 series wont show up in the US until its next redesign (2010) because there will only be a hatch ..... cant remember where I read it ...maybe autoweek? SO, the question is, how come the M2 looks like a coupe? Will the 2 series be a coupe with a hatch type opening ala Scion tC and Acura RSX? If so, why wont it make it to the US? A low price BMW coupe should appeal to all those who obsess about a BMW but cant afford it...right?

Who is going to cross-shop a 4-cylinder M2 and a 6-cylinder G35C? Maybe dumbass status-shoppers, but are there enough of them? I don't think so.
I can't see an M2 being more than $35k loaded. Any more than that and it's stupid.

I could rock this if it weighs under 3000lbs. Being it is an M, that means manual and high revving engine. I am sure it will be a driver's car.
If the current M3 is a 50k car, this would be a 35k car, IMO. Like the E36 M3.

The 1 series is supposed to be as long as the BMW 2002 of the 80s. I expect the 2 series to be about as long.
