I am now very curious if they have improved the quality of their screen and camera. Acura is now known for its shitty resolution and Camera but still better than Lexus, i gotta say.
I recently sat in the NX and found my CL-S from 2001 probably had better resolution.

I don’t really use stock navs anymore.
Waze is better than my dodge...and I won’t pay $250 for a fucking map upgrade.
Though i I do use it in my wife’s x3 on occasion. BMW is pretty good with that AND their voice recog. Best I’ve used.

Does anyone with Apple Play or AA use stock nav's anymore?
RDX looks like an improvement both inside and out to me. Brakes appear undersized though and if I'm nitpicking, the brake lights look too much like Honda. Oh wait...

I rarely use mine. I only use it when i am driving by myself. Like you said, BMW's voice Recognition is very good
But i just can't look at the tiny screen without Navi in BMW. It looks so sad.

i was talking about the resolution and font and stuff.... The ones in Acura and Lexus are just painful to look at.
Just wondering if they have fixed that with the RDX since it is supposed to be new - Precision Concept stuff.....

Leave it to Sarlacc to notice that the PRNDL has evolved into the grundle.

Oh yeah. I agree with that. That’s Toyota’s fault. Their shit is awful.

I think what bothers me about that dynamic button is just the sheer size of it. It’s just too large and prominent. Almost makes the nav screen look small! Hopefully they tone it down for production and make it gloss black or something.

somewhat. it is hard to tell from just a picture. But it seems the quality is improved.
We will find out soon enough.

Looks nice to me. I hope they don't downgrade to 8-bit NES graphics, though
I also like the tablet screen implementation, into the dash. It looks less awkward than some other brands.

Inside the Design Behind Acura's 2019 RDX Prototype
It's the 1st in a generation of cars we've been working towards," explains Ikeda. "It has all the bells and whistles and we are excited to share all of its innovations."
Ikeda says innovation is about risk-taking. "That's the energy we like to bring to the table at Acura, and it's kind of defined who we are," said Ikeda. Acura has been a partner at Sundance Film Festival for 8 years.

Was able to check it out at NAIAS last week and Acura has hit a home run here. It looks very CX5~ish and I think the Mazda CUV has the best looking interior/exterior of the midsize CUV set, BUT it is woefully underpowered.
If I'm going to nitpick, Acura needs to offer tasteful carbon fiber inlays as an option. The Germans offer it and to me wood screams old person luxury.
Also, not sure why they didn't design the spare tire into the interior trunk floor instead of the undercarriage, which is the worst place to put a spare.

Carbon inlay would be nice, but to replace all the wood, I think it would be a pretty pricey option. It's already pricey in the German cars and they don't use a ton of it.
At the end of the day though, we might see something different for the RDX-S. who knows. That's still several years away though.
I agree- the CX-5 and the new RDX do seem to share stuff in common. The CX-5 is a really sharp design- all Mazdas are these days. But... they just feel cheap on the inside. And I don't even know exactly why. I remember when I was getting my Miata serviced at a local Mazda dealer about 2 years ago, I took a look at all their offerings. I walked away from each and every vehicle they had thinking they could have done just a wee bit better on the inside.

CF is nice but too expensive for this type of car. If Acura was going to put fake CF, they might as well put Brushed Aluminum.

SEE ALSO: Overhauled 2019 Acura RDX Crossover Debuts
For 2019, the RDX has grown 1.2-inches in width and 2.5-inches in length, creating more space for passengers and more cargo volume. Despite the growth, the new RDX will weigh less than the outgoing model – all thanks to a new Acura-exclusive architecture. The interior, which has seating for 5, will feature a 10.2-inch touchscreen with an Android-based operating system. It will be controlled by the Acura True Touchpad Interface – a laptop-like click-pad on the center console.
Like the outgoing model, the 2019 Acura RDX will be produced at the automaker’s East Liberty, Ohio plant. The crossover expected to go on sale later this year, although it’s not yet clear when it will arrive at dealers.

Looks great!
My only concern is that if anyone can screw up the implementation of a touchpad interface...it's Honda/Acura.

Oh it is touchpad only? that is risky... because i rarely use the touchpad on the BMW. the knob is much faster... except when you are entering address.
