I love the fact that it actually has a trunk, but i wonder howmuch different it handles from the normal coupe. It doesnt have the rear stabilizer bar that the normal coupe has.

S2000 is just too damn small for me...

It's a beautiful ride though...& yes, it'd be supercharged for sure.

not a big fan of roadsters, don't like what nissan did with the top up design either-way too much trunk. look at it sticking out there, looks like they were copying a prowler.

For the S2000 to win, the test must have this as an objective:

"To find the sportier roadster."

Another piece of proof that shows that, the above is the objective, is the fact that the TT comes last and the Z4, second from last.

In my opinion, the winners here are the ones in the middle of the pack. THe Boxster and the Nissan (I would include the Z4 here too). Why? Because they blend sportiness with the fact that they are easy to live with. Having tested all but the 350Z, I can easily attest to that.

For sure, the S2000 is the closest thing to a track car. But look at those Z4 numbers (acceleration, decceleration, etc) and combine them with how it feels when you drive it. Huge surprise to see it being the fastest. It feels modest when you drive it without looking at the numbers. Way! more livable than the S2000. I just cannot see anyone getting in an S2000 and driving 25 miles to work with mostly highway, twice a day for 4 years. That would be very painful.

Thanks.

I am in the market for a roadster. Or at least in another 3-6 months from now. I wish the Z4 had a larger engine or the Boxster "S" cost as much as a base Boxster. That's what I'd buy.

5.3 to 60mph isn't fast enough or are you concerned about 30-50, 50-70 times?

I'm genuinely curious.

Well, I think the point of a roadster is to be sporty. If you want something comfortable, buy a sedan. If you want something sporty and comfortable, buy a sports sedan. But if you something that's pure sport, buy an S2000. The point of a roadster isn't to "drive 25 miles to work"...that's what a sedan (and some coupes) are for.
I think C&D hit it on the mark with this comparo. All the other cars listed are great but the S2000 is a roadster in the purest sense of the word and that's why it won.
