2004 Civic

does anyone else think that the headlights on the freshened civic look similar to something toyota would have?

Yes, I thought that too. The 04 Civic update looks better, but the front end reminds me of the current Corolla blended with the 1998-2000 Accord sedan. Regardless, it is an improvement over last years Civic.

I actually like the new look....very last year Accord-esque. I guess they were tired of people mistaking Civics from a long ways away as Ford Focuses (the triangular headlights....).

I like the new look too. I prefer the dual headlight look of the new 2004.

It's better. But it doesn't fit the coupe's hard edge rear quarter.

I think it is a deffinite improvement....the red front view looks more like my 2000 SiR then the 2001 Si did.

You are such a troll. Why do you even come here?? You never contribute anything positive EVER. If Honda/Acura products offend you, why come here? I don't like Toyota/Lexus cars very much, but you don't see me trolling around on clublexus.com or some other Toyota site. But then again, I have a life. :o

Back on topic....

The Civic looks quite nice. The refresh only improved it's looks IMO. The only thing wrong with the coupe is how long the trunk lid is. It looks somewhat out of proportion w/out a spoiler, at least to my eye.

I don't know about the 98-02 Accord comparison, but those headlights look like Camry style to me.:o

Gilbo, Justin's got a point here. Some of us here may be Honda Fanboys but you are definently the biggest BMW fanboy I've ever known. If it does'nt have 6 cylinders and RWD and say BMW on the hood its no good in your books. I guess Jesus drove a 7 series in your Bible Huh?

I have to say, I really, 100 percent like the new Civic. BMW isn't really that great in my book. If they had lower prices and better reliability, then I'd give them the thumbs up! The new 7-series and 5 are just kinda fugly. I think BMW's style is getin' kinda old too. Look at a 1990 BMW and compare that to today, not too much difference in style.

Life's to short to bitch about who's car is better. The bottom line is that we are all very fortunate to be able to drive anything. Most of the world's population will never even have the opportunity to drive a car yet alone own one.

A friend of mine recently saved enough money to buy his first car. He's not much of a car guy but he enjoys driving. Do you know what he bought? A Saturn Ion! Now I would never buy that car for myself but he couldn't be happier with it. And I fully support that decision and think it's great that he's so happy. Who am I to say that he'd enjoy something else more?

Back on topic, I really like the new Civic! I think the front looks great. Subtle change but noticeably different.

I never notice a Civic. Who would?Well only the ones that sound louder than they are faster and the neon lights, and stickers and APC stuff etc etc...

I know a few guys that have done the RIGHT thing with Civics, adding Volk wheels, quality mods, engine swaps, etc the cars are incredible.

But unfortunately, the rice-boysz with $5 in their pocket go the Pep boys and screw it up.

This might be the first I have even seen about a Civic that is not a Type-R.

Sick, I can't believe what you are saying!!!
Come on, that's the purpose of the design behind almost all Hondas and Acuras. These cars weren't made to stand out, they were made to blend in. Besides the NSX, I can't think of one Honda design that attracted crowds. Honda excels at not offending the viewers.

Now, on the other hand, the rice boyz comment is right on the money. Just the other day, I was driving my brother's Eclipse GS (not GT mind you) with just minor tweeks of exhaust and intake, and this civic rolls up and it's pretty riced out. This Eminem clone looks at me and starts revin'!!! My Eclipse has no body work, no lips and spoiler, nor any lowering, so I think the guy thought he could take me... but then he learned that adding a "sound" muffler, adding plastic everywhere and lowering the car does nothing for speed. Idiot peeled out but didn't even come close.
God, Denver has too many 2FAST kids.

Junkster, who lost a little respect for Gilbo in this thread.

just as long as you keep in mind that ther are a lot of cleanly modded civics i can give you at least 100 that i know in my area and 1000+ anywhere else, we are a rare breed and i don't complain really because the ricers make us look better by making themselves look so retarded.
oh and honda also still sales a lot of cars because god forbid there are people out there that buy cars for mpg and up keep
my roomate went from a truck with a fully build engine to a civic because of the positives about it towards him

lets turn this thread back on topic and post the positives and negatives about it ok ....

truthfully i see nothing wrong with them and i would own one if i wasn't getting a tsx
i think that the new civic is perfect for a college student like me that has to drive 300 or so miles a week back and forth because for 300 miles i can spend 10 bucks on gas
40 bucks a month on gas is not bad at all when you have to pay off student loans

I am not saying nothing bad about the Civic. I think it's a good car. It brings many customers to Honda. Without the Civic, a lot of these aftermarket goodies would not be available. The Civic is a solid car (though I prefer the previous 2 generations looks to the new one). 2 thumbs up for the Civic. Maybe my message came out wrong.

But the new Civic lost a lot of respect from enthusiests for losing it's previous suspension set up for the new one for the sake of saving money.

and you are Acura's bitch?? call me a fanboy..but car for car, ACura does not make a sedan that is close to even a G35, You talk about value, value is irrelevant if it doesnt satisfy what you need....i like/need sporty sedans that handle well ...you dont.. no big deal. i dont mind paying for perfomance..you dont want to..good enough is all you want....if Acura made a sedan that was comparable to even a G35, and cheap as a TSX... i would get one...but they dont..

...you're really starting to sound like a broken record Gilbo, absolutely everyone on this forum now knows how you feel/think/react/sound off/comment/brag/swagger/and lord over any plebian individual who dares to challenge the, assumed by some, absolute supremacy of the chariot of all gods from Munich. It is plainly obvious that you feel a need and must relieve your urges by coming over to this forum and constantly reminding us what a superb and intelligent individual you are, I'm happy that we can provide this service to you, it is obviously much cheaper than visiting a therapist...
...we wish you well in your recovery...

First, for your info...I do not work JUST for Acura. Im also employed by MB, Infiniti, Audi and Porsche. Second, you have NO freaking idea what you are talking about. The 04TL is way beyond what the G35 can offer for everyday use. I should know BMW b***h...I m driving a G35 right now. I have nothing against BMW...they are what they are. I just have something against YOU. You come in here bragging time and time again. Every thing Honda do is a sore spot in your eyes...but even that is ok with me. What I don't like about YOU is just because people here like to discuss their Hondas/Acuras you label them as Honda fanboys. You think they are less then you just because you drive a freaking bimmer. Well you know what ...F**K you. Finally I just don't like liars PERIOD. Yeah Im talking about YOU.
