Hey street, you are a really knowledgable guy so I thought you might know this. I am putting the following system in my car. Will I have to upgrade my alternator?

Pioneer AVX-P7000CD
Pioneer AVM-P9000R
2 x Soundstream Rubicon 1002 (Each pushing 1k to each sub)
1 x Soundstream Rubicon 302 (pushing 150x2)
2 ECLIPSE 88120DVC 12" Subs

You don't HAVE to upgrade it with this equipment, but I can tell you that it will help GREATLY for low end frequencies if you do upgrade it.

Street you make it sound like you've found something I haven't. I talked with a few friends of mine up at Ohio Generator (the people that RF work with), and they said just about all you can hope for in our cars is rewinding the alternator for 180 amps...no large case is going to fit in there or anything. Is this what you've found too? I'm going to have to find a way to pull 40 amps out of my arse

Rewinding your alternator to go from I believe 120A to 180A is about $400. I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt you need to do that with what little you're putting in (screens take negligible amperage)...maybe a cap if you see your voltage dropping...but if you want to do an alternator upgrade let me know. They have a 1 day turnaround time, and they're going to sponsor me as well, so I can hook you up...
