yes, that box is hideous and cheap looking... and besides that, you'll probably blow it apart... it dosent look very strong. If you really want to see the back of the sub, mount it in a MDF box with mirrors inside and a plexi piece in the back. Something that at least looks like it should be in a CL.

It is indeed very strong...it is made from 3/4 plexi so it not the strength that I am worried about...this guy does a ton of boxes like this. That is not the actual box either...that one is much smaller its just so you get an idea. But thanks for your input!

Does anyone know where I might find mirrored film to use inside a box like that?

I have also thought about a MDF box with a plexi front and mirrors on the back and sids but then I would need something in there to light it up so you could see in there...and I dont know that I want to use neon or something like that. The advantage to an all plexi box is it will gett light in there and not have to use anything else.

I just used some of those strip light things you would see on the side of a semi. I mounted them in the top corners of the box so you can't see them when you look in throught the plexi window and it makes a really nice warm red glow.

Also that one in the pic is 1/2' plexi so it looks thin...the one i would get is 3/4"

Yip. The first design had a small plexi port on the front of the box (near the pass through in the back seat) so you can see the speaker from inside the passenger compartment.

I had an identical window on the trunk side of the box too, but I decided it was too small and am having a larger piece of plexi cut to do the entire back panel with.

If you look at my link below, there is one pic from inside the passenger compartment.

I should have the rest of it finised Tuesday evening (that's the plan) and I'll post pics then of the back of the box.

thats just my opinion... plexi is no where near as strong as wood, and even a 3/4" or even 1" plexi is still gonna flex much more than a decent MDF box... making the sub sound weak. for lighting neon will work... but its expensive... you can do like mcdanjw said and use small truck lights... usually the marker lights come in a few different colors... and clear too so if you just want some white light, or you can even throw some super white bulbs in them. your choice, whatever fits your budget.
