XM RF mod replacement
XM RF mod replacement
If I buy the blitzsafe cable for my XM radio, would I remove the rf modulator or just replace some wires going in and out of the rf mod?
I am completely lost when it comes to this stuff, so if I sound retarded, I probably am (:

a Blitzsafe would replace your FM Mod. It is a striaght line level connection from your XM to your HU. It usually plugs into your CD changer port or another data port. Some of he blitzsafe leave you the option of adding the cd changer later on.
Alpine does now make a HU with XM built in, no need for a seperate xm unit, you just connect a single line XM antenna to the unit and away you go.
The alpine unit is Alpine CDA-9820XM

I installed mine today. Easy install and still have my changer. Worth the $120.00. You'll need a headphone to audio (red/white) cable to interface between the XM cradle and the Blitzsafe. Find it at any radioshack. Try to get one that has the 90 degree plug at the headphone end of the cable.
