XM Renewal Discounts?

A while back (about a year ago), there was a thread running on how to call the "Save-The-Sale" department and get a discounted 1-year XM Radio subscription when the initial 3 free months expired on the TL. My searches are coming up empty....is this still available? Just got a letter from XM saying they want to renew me at a quarterly rate of $38.95...ouch.

WinBack Rollover!

Merry Christmas! Thanks quintno, I read through that post you linked to and called the 1-800-929-2100 number, and was ready with either a ZWIN1 or ZWINBACKMYP1 code.

I told him I wanted to renew, he threw out the standard rate plans. I said, actually, I was calling about the WinBack promotion, and he said, well someone must have given you a Christmas present because you are already automatically enrolled in the $77 WinBack promotion.

I bought my TL in September 2004 and got the original WinBack pricing in December 2004 at $60 for the first year. Somehow the system automatically renewed me at the current WinBack yearly rate.

Of course, this is very different than the letter I received from XM, but oh well! Not sure if this will work out for everyone else, but hopefully so.

Not to hijack the thread or anything- but it follows along the same lines. I finally cancelled my XM yesterday and activated my Sirius, and while I was cancelling my XM they offered me a free 3 months to rethink my decision. So for anybody wanting to score a free three months of service when their contract is expiring- go ahead and tell them that you're switching to Sirius and want to cancel your subscription, and they'll probably hit you up for the same offer. I didn't go for it because I hate XM and I would never listen to it, but I have no problem letting other people know how to take xm for 3 months of service.

I think when my subscription is up i'm gonna switch to sirius as well. Hopefully they will have a plug and play set up for the TSX by then. It sucks not being able to hear the NFL games. Damn XM!!!
