You can directly connect a Delphi SkyFi directly to the CD port input on the back of the HU via a Blitzsafe ACURA/XM DMX DELPHI V.1 adapter. See www.blitzsafe.com for more information.

I have the Pioneer FM-GEX903XM tuner directly connected to my HU with a similar adapter.

Speaking directly to XM, I love it. Just a four minute commercial on the hour. More selections than you will ever use. However you want to get it (new HU, separate receiver), just get it

I have a blitzsafe adapter on order through my local Tweeter (3 weeks to deliver? geez). They will install that and the Delphi unit and I will then be able to report back the outcome.

I did buy the Panavise (sp?) holder that the Delphi SkyFi will attach to. I swear I sat in the car for 20 minutes the other night trying to figure out where to mount the unit so that it wouldn't interfere with anything--not too many options unless I want it hidden away and just use the remote. This is the downside of the SkyFi--it's just so tall!

In addition, I had my local Acura/Honda body shop paint the Delphi antenna to match the car--looks great and will give it a very "stock" look.

Chris,
I agree with you that the Delphi unit has some great features, but I am hesitant on going with that unit for the reason you described--where to put it? Do you think that the unit could somehow fit in the sunglass holder?

Pioneer XM with Blitzsafe

Circuit City has the Pioneer RF XM unit for $109.00 after rebate and discount. Bought it today. Went to a blitzsafe dealer listed on their site. The installer is going to use a trunk mount "mouse" antenna. He is overcharging a bit for the Antenna but the total installation (not including parts) is $120.00 He is mounting the control unit just above the steering wheel next to the emergency light control. Any opinions on this set up(before I commit) would be appreciated. I have only paid him the $100.00 to order the blitzsafe unit to match the pioneer xm recvr.

drmike2929. for me it is easier to reach down, not up, to reach the Delphi, so I didn't even try it in the sunglass holder. The only thing I am worried about mounting it just to the right of the climate control is passengers hitting it with their knee. I guess I'm hoping they'll love the music so much they won't even notice!

Chris,
Are you talking about installing it to the right of the HEATED SEAT controls or the CLIMATE CONTROL? My climate controls are well above the height of the passengers knees, but I don't see how you would install it there without problems to the glove compartment box.

Mike, I was planning on having it put up as high as possible, which would be to the right of the climate control. I think the PanaVise holder is designed to keep it out of the way of the glovebox. I have it still boxed up, but will get it out this evening and make sure this is the case.

Yes, I checked and it definitely keeps it out of the way of my overstuffed glovebox...

I have an appt tomorrow to have the system installed and hope to have some pics posted this week.

I got it installed this evening and planned to take some pics and do a nice write-up, but the unit isn't powering on and I have to take it back to Tweeter tomorrow for a fix. It was working on the way home, but now isn't--totally frustrating, but I'm sure we will get it solved Wednesday, then I will take pics, do a write-up on the sound and receiver quality, and post it under the topic "XM Delphi Skyfi installed in TL-S".

Search for my thread here "xm installation pics" or something like that. I show my self-install of the Pioneer.

As soon as I find $100, I'll put the Blitzsafe in and retake pics...probably going to move the signal wire since I'm getting some noise recently.
