XM & MP3 Possible

I believe that XM and MP3 are both possible as the XM receiver uses an FM modulator while the MP3 unit uses the audio attachment kit. They both interface to your audio system differently which shouldn't prohibit both being integrated.

The Acure/Honda XM unit for the TSX/Accord is practically an off-the-shelf Alpine CRA-1667RF XM unit with custom wiring for the TSX. Check it out this Alpine link.

I am biased toward getting a Terk XM Commander and custom fitting it to my car... afterall, the XM Commander features blue backlighting and will match the interior of the TSX much better overall.

Correct me if I am wrong...

I have this setup and it's works (Alpine XM w/ 6 CD/MP3 changer), I just really wish that Blitzsafe would get off their butt and make the Aux adapter they promised months ago for this unit. The fm modulation is ok, but not nearlly as good as an aux connecter would be.

My friend has a sirius setup that he is thinking about getting rid of, i might just do that and figure out a good mounting spot

Just an idea, but if you buy the Alpine unit (assuming it has RCAs) can hook it up using the snhond03. It would save you some money and it would also work with the OEM MP3 player.

I believe that to be somewhat correct, but you would still require much custom installation since you will not be getting OEM wiring, brackets, trim pieces, etc. with an Alpine version of the unit. You need to keep in mind your Alpine unit would have to interface using an FM Modulator... your OEM MP3 player will already be utilizing the direct connect to the headunit via the Audio Attachment Kit. The OEM XM unit also has to use modulation because the AUX input is used for either the MP3 or iVES DVD units.

Check out the installation proceedure (from an Accord, but is probably 95% similar to the TSX instructions) so you can see what steps & parts are required for the OEM install by your dealer.

Accord XM Radio Installation Instructions (PDF)

Like I said before... it's gonna be a Terk XM Commander for me if I have to custom install anything. I just find it to be a much better unit, and more cosmetically matched to the interior of a TSX.

FYI

Circuit City has the XM Commander on sale for $134.99 + a $20 CC gift card by mail + free shipping! Best price I've ever seen the Commander for. I'm going to order one this weekend.

I-Mod, I think I gave a reveiw of the OEM DVD system. I had it on the TSX loaner a couple of months ago. It is on the same thread where I tested the top speed of the TSX, while my car was in the shop.

Sorry to lazy to find the thread that I started.
