I have the same setup in my TL. The prices for the Blitzsafe and the Commander seem about right unless you can find them cheaper on Crutchfield or somewhere else. If you can do it yourself, save some $ - look on the threads for instructions about how to get to the HU. Unfortunately, I'm not too proficient with wiring, so I had a shop do my install. Depending on where you want the remote display installed, the labor may cost you up to $75-100 (also depending on local labor rates.) I had mine installed in my sunglass holder and that was a bit more complex. Re: installing the antenna inside, you can do it. I don't recommend the exact center of the dash by the windshield if it covers the sensor for the climate control. My A/C didn't work correctly after the install until I figured it out and relocated the antenna to the left side under the windshield. No probs with reception. Good luck!

Install the antenna above the sunglass tray, but you will have reception problems in different areas. I've never figured out why, but they aren't that big of a deal to me.

Beware of the front dash location. I have Sirius myself and I actually just moved my Sirius antenna from the front dash to the rear deck.

I was having problems when it was raining. When it was raining and I had my windsheild wipers on going pretty fast, then I would lose reception about every few seconds. It sounded almost like a CD skipping. What was happenning was the wipers that were rotating back and forth were interfering with my reception. As they moved back and forth they were partially covering the antenna and causing a drop is signal. Mounting outside the car on the roof is what I heard is the ideal mount location. I'm happy so far with the antenna on my rear deck, but it's only been about 5 days, so we'll see over the long term.

I have Sirius though, not XM, so I'm not 100% sure if this fully applies to you. Just thought I should mention it though.

Here's a pic of my old mount location. My GPS antenna is shown the picture. I acutally didn't move that, since it doesn't seem to be effected by the wipers.

i had xm in my last car for over 2 years and sold then sold it, been without it for 3 months now and dying, i know the shop that installed it in my last car said, it should be on roof for best reception, but i wanna keep the outside of the car as clean as possible and also dont alert people there is satelitle radio in the car, another reason to break in, will tell the shop to put it in the rear deck.....

CD1 and 1-99 on the radio

I'd suggest installing the XM Commander in the sunglass tray if you don't need it.

I took a trip to San Francisco and everything is fine with the antenna on my rear deck. I'm happy with that location, it was much better than the front windshield.

I have a TSX so the rear windshield is pretty long though. What car do you have?

You should be fine with putting it in the rear deck. I think that the 03 CL has a pretty long rear windshield.

I've been listening more and more to mine and everything sounds great with the antenna on the rear deck.
