Looks like you may need something to also convert RCA to Component video first, since most DVD players still don't have Component outputs.

Now what if the DVD player has component video outs??? Would it work then?

isn't the other problem being this part runs on household 110v instead of automotive 12v...making it unuseable? as for the dvd player with rgb outputs, i think that works...just buy a power converter (if it does not run on 12v) and then buy a couple of single ended rca cables. it will be wired exactly like the navi conversion with the avc-rgb1 but you don't need the pioneer unit...right?

Just corresponded with Ron, that piece won't work. His exact words:

"As for that rgb adapter, that really won’t work because RGB for say computer monitors is different in the car going to lcd screens."

The first one won't work, since it's just a TV Tuner with composit outs.

The second one won't work because itonverts RGB to NTSC Video Signal (RCA), you actually need it to go the other direction RCA to RGB.

Angry

Man, I give up!

I guess it's the Pioneer AVC-RGB1 or nothing else!

There is also www.nav-tv.com , maybe they will sell you a converter, but may be more expensive.
