Would replacing the rear speakers help?
I have focal utopia 165w in front, and i kept the stock rears in for fill. Should i upgrade the rear also? If yes, then which speakers would work well with the Focals and wont break the bank?
Also would it be bad to have 3 amps? 1 for the subs, 1 for the focals, and 1 for the rears? Or should i sell the amp thats powering the focals and get a 4 channel amp?

It's all a matter of personal preference. Rear fill is only supposed to fill in the space between your front stage and sub. Your not really supposed to hear your rear fill unless you really listen for it. Some people like it, some ppl don't. I'm one of those that don't like it. I like the sound stage up front where it is intended to be IMO -whereas w/the rears playing, it seems to move the stage towards middle of car- I can't stand to hear vocals behind me so I don't play them. If you like a strong rear fill, then yes changing them and adding an amp and gain them up a little higher will improve dynamics and overall seem to play a little louder in the process. You may want to fade everything up front for a few days, then set the fader to middle, then fade slighty biased to rear for a few days more to determine your preferences in staging. Just a thought. Just have fun with it.

Rear fill is for ambience...and if you're looking for quality sound for yourself go for it...but if you want to compete you'll most likely turn it off. Also, you'd definitely rather go with two amps (one for front, one for back) than one amp (for all four). It's a commong rule that you'll get lower THD, be able to adjust everything more precisely, etc etc etc. Plus you can always literally turn OFF the rear fill when you want to. You see what I have for my rear fill...and I got those JL XR650CX's for $150 so...definitely doesn't hurt the pocketbook...

Im going to try the fading and see how i like that. Otherwise im just going to leave it alone i think. I just feel as i need to improve it, come on I know you guys understand what im saying.
