A word of advice for anyone in AZ

Do not ever go to a stereo shop called 'Sounds Good to Me'.

To make a long story short, they do horrible installs. I just got my car back from the dealer and in the 'comments' section of the bill it says 'car was butchered from stereo install'.

Apparantly they tore apart the insides of my doors putting in the speakers... and this is only the most recent of a long list of problems I've had with these guys.

I should have known not to trust a shop with a :ghey: name like this.

Yeah my passenger window stopped working a couple weeks ago. I couldn't figure it out so I asked the dealer to take a look. I'm not sure which piece exactly, but they said a switch on the drivers side door (to control the passenger window) wasn't connected, or even attached to the door where it was supposed to be. I guess it had been hanging loose since the install, and finally fell apart a couple weeks ago.

They also said the seals on the doors had been cut apart and everything was just kind of hanging loose.

This shop also:

- forgot to hook up the non fading outputs to my sub when they gave me the car

- scratched the hell out of my the plastic on the tweeter (coincidentally, this tweeter blew out last week)

- bent one of my aluminum sills in half

- charged me something like $70 for RCA extensions since the sets I had weren't long enough...I found out recently they used the shittiest 1 foot extensions that cost maybe $15 for the set...

- didn't add some piece to the eclipse I had initially to amplify the amp turn on lead, which caused huge thumping sounds in my subs for 6 months until I replaced the deck with an Alpine (didn't find out until I sold the eclipse that they forgot to hook this up)

- amp rack sucks, if you open the pass through there are just wires shoved everywhere

- custom dash I had initially to hold 7" screen and dvd player was the ugliest POS job I have ever seen.

theres more I'm forgetting I'm sure.

Ahhh...so it wasn't the Eclipse unit that was the cause of your thumping problem. Sorry to here about your list of problems.

NOPE...remember that? I was bitching about that on here for months!

turns out the output on the turn on lead from eclipse is really low and they are supposed to be installed with some type of amplifier thing. I've never head of it before but the guy I sold my deck to told me about it.

I went in to the shop and asked them about it and they said they forgot to put it in...even after I had already brought the car in there twice and asked them to fix the thump.

Yeah, I remember you were complaining about that for awhile and got a new deck and everything. I never knew that about the turn-on lead. I hope they installed mine right.

Are you talking about the place on Mill and Broadway? The looks of that place alone scare me! Sorry to hear about your problems. I have a friend named Andy who owns a place called House of Sound. He is about the most anal guy I know and does amazing work. I also haven't forgotten about my offer to help you out with your suspension. I'm still waiting for my rims and rotors...so as soon as the car is off jack stands I'll let you know.

Hey Aaron... yeah I went against my better judgement by using that place. I took the word of a few guys who vouced for them... guess I shouldn't have.

and thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it, but I got my suspension problems all worked out. turns out it wasn't the suspension mods at all, the axle was loose. I brought it in to the dealer and they fixed it all up under warranty. just got my car back last night from the dealer.

I'll keep house of sound in mind though next time I have any work done...
