ignition harness
black/red acc
white 12 volt battery
ground any metal surface use groung terminal ring on a factory screw

Behind Radio
Radio 12v white/blue

Sorry, I don't have XM. But for acc power you can get it from the cig lighter. I don't know if this will help but is it the wiring schemes for the amp and head unit.

Head Unit 439kb amp 87kb

I'm attempting the same thing. So when you say "take power" from either location, you mean splice into each wire? If I want use the power from the cig lighter and I'm installing in the "not an ashtray", I need to remove the outlet anyway?

Sorry for the stupid questions.

^^yeah you can just split the wires---I would use a clip from radioshack so you don't have to cut the wire. That way if you sell the car and want to keep the XM you can put the car back to normal easier.

I don't know what the clip is called but it is a \/\/ with wires in between the 2 v's and connects them. That way you don't have to strip them.
