Wiring discoloring... Heat?

I ran new wires into my front doors this weekend. The wires I ran initially were browned where they made tight bends. Is this likely due to weather or are these bends causing resistance and heat? Thus far, I was only running head unit wattage (tiny) through 16awg wire. I now ran 12awg from the amps through the doors and will have 50 watts each speaker. There are a couple tight bends it has to make. I could alleviate these by drilling a new hole to pass the input wire from inside the door through the metal for hook up to the crossover. I wanted to avoid extra holes that might let moisture through.

Anyone have knowledge on this subject?

Thanks

I have had wiring change color due to contact with sound deadening (dynamat)...its like it stains the insulation on the wiring. I've never seen it just because of a bend in the wire. Its probably just weathering...is it cheap wiring? The wiring size you're using is perfectly fine.

Bending the speaker wiring is fine as long as you're not pinching it. This could cut the insulation and cause it to short out. If there are no cuts or abrasions in the wiring I wouldn't worry about it.
